My daughter is 12 months old and for the life of me I cannot get her to drink anything but formula milk! She will have water but only a little drop on the rarest occasions.
I have tried her with juice in cups, in bottles and I've even tried spoon feeding it to her (very time consuming and she thought it was some kind of game!) but have had very little success and the baby juice is an expensive thing to be throwing away all the time. Oddly enough, though, she loves to eat jelly when many of the other mums I have spoken to say their babies love juice but hate jelly.
If anybody has any suggestions of if you're in the same boat I would love to hear from you!

Maybe try making feeds other than the first one in the morning and last one at night gradually weaker?
She may then get used to the wateryness?
Make sure she's still getting her 500ml milk a day or whatever it is then don't worry about juice just try to get her to drink water.
If she's eating fruit, she doesn't need the juice anyhoo.

My 10 month old drinks only milk.He has breakfast with fruit on first thing, milk mid morning, lunch he has dinner and filous and I'd like him to drink something then but he just chews the cup if it has a valve in or lets it fall out of his mouth if it's a free flow beaker.Tea time he has dinner and fruit, and a bottle of milk at bed time.I am going to be more persistant with trying to get him to take either juice or water at lunch,as he needs to take some fluids.I was hoping the flavour of the juice would help encourage him to take some and it's about time he learnt to use a beaker anyway.I think what's holding him up is finding a cup that suits him.
Rather than buying the expensive baby juice I just dilute ordinary juice, especially if he's just playing with it and I'm going to tip it away.Once he actually gets the hang of drinking the juice, and some is going in,then I'll worry about what he's drinking. Those little bottles of baby juice cost a fortune
Oh my little man loves jelly,he has the Muller Little Stars ones.

Yeh as above, don't bother with the baby juices, some of them have yuck in they don't need and they're v. expensive.
Just dilute proper fruit juices. Pure apple is good. Tippee cups have lines on for baby juice dilutions. First line near bottom for the juice, then top line for the water.

Thanks for all of your replies and advice which I will be trying. However we have had a breakthrough in the last few days and she will now drink water (well more of it than before anyway).

Good news about the water.
Just to reassure, my 5 year old has drunk nothing but breast milk till 8 months and water ever since. If I tried to give her anything else whe thinks I'm trying to poison her. Tried fizzy mineral water and she cried for ten minutes!
At least she doesn't have cravings for cola etc. (yet!)
