That would be signing up to weight watchers and no more chocolate/crisps/ anything that looks nice snack attacks in the evening!!

I was so pissed off listening to some staff go on about my BMI in hospital at appointments that I knew I would not go through another pregnancy listening to the same comments!! I was on steroids for a long time which didnt help and I piled a lot of weight on but I know that I am also a chocaholic and except in pregnancy a bit of a wino too....in fact wine, gin, voka....

So I have decided to do something about it and go to classes during the day and hopefully post on here so I can read back on what will hopefully be progress. I did something similar on YAYW a couple of years ago and it motivated me so I appologise in advance for my ramblings and if anyone else wants to join me feel free :\)

Oh, I am thinking about joining WW or SW too. Toby is now 7 months old so the baby weight excuse is wearing thin! My downfall is chocolate. I went to the shop for cat food an hour ago and bought 3 double deckers, I have already eaten 2 of them!

My trouble is that my hubby works away so I can't attend a class which I think would motivate me more. I don't have anyone that could come and look after the kids whilst I go in the evening and I would hate to take them all with me if it was a daytime class, I would worry about people thinking they were rowdy kids! I'm also still BF and last time I tried to watch my calorie intake my milk supply decreased for a few days. I think I will have to look at their websites and see which one to join and do it all online.

    Good luck x x

I did slimming world many years ago and lost 2 stone but after a while got bored of doing the green and red days and the idea of eating as much as i want is not a good thing for me. I know weight watchers is better for me as at least i can count my points and i have lots of the cook books already.

    Photos would be good! :\)

I might be brave enough to post some when I can see a difference....mind you i dont know how to post them

Not anymore I will be a fitness freak once again...... does taking a baby down to the gym count as going swimming when it is in baby pool?

My downfall before was due to work i could never get to meetings and so then its easy to make excuses when you know you are not getting weighed (or maybe thats just me!)

This time I am going in day and taking Caleb with me, so when it is nice weather I will walk to the meetings.

I do have a lot to lose (there is a pic of me on so who are we thread) and I hope to do it before we have next baby . I am setting my first target as beginning of Dec as we are having lo christened and it will be nice not to be embarrassed of photos.

Hope your meeting goes well if you made it!

There was a thread like this a few months ago which I joined in with but i didn't really follow it through!
I'm not very overweight, checked my BMI and I'm right at the top of the ideal weight for my height but I just have this huge baby belly which I would love to get rid of so, having been inspired by your post, I have ordered myself an exercise bike and some digital scales as mine are not digital so you can't really tell the exact weight. I want to know if I've lost even a pound!!!!
How do you decide on a weight target?
I've never been on a diet before, I love my food! I'm really going to struggle with that as my will power is awful and I have no one here to encourage me (or discourage as the case may be!)
What do you snack on when you're dieting? I'm not a fruit lover!

I too would like to join you ladies. I am 13 half stone and need to get to 10 and half. So 3 stone to go. i have lost one stone over last couple of months but have been really bad last few weeks. I got back on the wagon on monday and hope to make a fresh start! Its so hard though....already in a foul mood because i am not eating vast quantities of chocolate! Good luck everyone - it is nice to know lots of others are doing it too xxx

Mumof2 - At weight watchers they work out what 10% of your weight is and that is your first goal. I personally want to lose a hell of a lot (about 5 stone) and it is going to be hard for me as my success in the past has been down to a lot of exercise but after pelvis problems in pregnancy I find it difficult. I am going to start with basic classes and just build up stamina and strength before I run any marathons (not that i have ever ran one  )

Food wise I actually like raw veg...it just gets boring when I know I am on a diet! I make sure I have a huge bottle of water with me at all times so whenever I get hungry and normally go on search for the old chocolate drug I have a swig of that (and pretend its a g&t  )

Will keep posting what seems to work for me x
