i have been living with my mum in law since last year june. we have been saving for a car so we can move out of london and get cheaper place to rent. within 3 months of my hubbie passing test he had bad car accident and may lose his licence, or have very high insurance. we really dont no what to do as we wont hear from the court for 6 months! so we dont no wether to save again forcar, wait to hear or just save and go once we have enough for a flat. we are both so stressed and upset as we feel we are stuck either way. im a stay at home mum and want to staty thay way, my son is 13 months. my husband earns ok money. the dilema we are in is if we move without car, we atre limited to where we can live-OH work ect. if we save for car we have high insurance to pay that we may not be able to afford. i feel stuck at my mum in laws as we dont wnat to pay a fine in instalments but paying all off at once means satrting to save to move out all over again! GOD! im so sorry this sounds mad! but im so stuck... what would you guys do?

thats quite a dilemma, you can say to the court if they fine him that you an only afford x amount per month, this can be pennies if thats all you have to spare so i wouldnt worry to much about not being able to afford that.

as for moving would there not be transport links from where you are planning to move to for his work? i'm guessing working in london you would just need the car for family outings?

would it not take more than 6 months to save? if so you would know what situation you would be in and be able to make a better decsion than setting stuff in stone now?

on another note, do you drive? if you do you could have him as a named driver which might be cheaper?

we save around 800 a month and we have 2-3k to come bcak from the car.
we were going to move to kent as its cheaper than london to rent but the transport links are expensive.
