    Hi

My 13 months old lo still wakes once or twice at night. Is this common as my hv said she should not be waking during the night. I give her about 3 - 4z of bottle when she wakes as this seems to sooth her. I dont have any problems getting her to be at night, just to sleep thorugh. Does anyone else have lo who wakes at this age.

hi. my lo is 1 next monday and she wakes every nite. sometime she'll settle just with her dummy, sometimes i have to give her milk and sometimes i give in and bring her into my bed. just depends what mood she's in, there's no particular pattern.
it is just habit with her now i think. i do occasionally get the odd good nite but i still wake up as i'm so used to it now.
the hv said just to leave her to cry it out and she will learn to settle herself...easier said than done when your so tired in the middle of the night and on your own.

    Hi there
i wrote a forum the other day about my 6month still waking at night as my hv says its' not right at that age, but reading others advice on here there doesn't seem to be any hard fast rules or patterns!!

my hubby apparantly didn't sleep properly til he was 3!!

As long as you're coping ok with getting up at night I wouldn't worry as we're all different and sleep in different patterns

my little bugalugs still wakes and he is nearly 13 months too. although last night he slept from 7pm-5.45am! whoo hoo! i don't give him milk when he wakes but do offer him water as sometimes is v thirsty. we have been sleep training him and leave him to cry for up to half an hour at a time now, although aways go in and check on him as soon as he starts crying coz sometimes has a dirty nappy. i really hope we all get regular decent nights sleep soon!!

    Hi Curlyclaire.

Does the water instead of milk work, how did you get on with the controlled crying??

hi ya my lo is i year end of the month and still wakes up 1/2 a night never more than once has he slept through but at the mo he is off the breast milk at mo so when he wakes up all i can do is cuddle him he usually goes back off after 5 mins since not having milk he has settles a bit more at nights as its not mlik he is wanting he wakes mayb once a night tuesday night he went to bed at 730 and didnt wake till 530 so that was really good . my hv too said that he should not still b waking at night and i should just let him cry but with two other girls to think about its not really a good idea as one is at middle school now and needs her sleep . but like i said now he is not having milk any more he seems not to wake so often so i do believe it is and was for him a comfprt thing in the night.

I think holly wakes more out of habit now. When she was 4 months old she was sleeping from 7-7 then when 8 months came she started waking again. I just dont know how to get her out of the habit again
