    Hi Ladies

Has anyone else given their little ones 'nicknames'?

When Ruby was first born my OH used to call her 'Rubzy Bubzy' lol and the Bubzy part has just stuck. I think she gets called Bubzy more than her actually name, hope she doesn't get a complex! lol

Not sure weither it will stick as she gets older, my mum used to call me 'Lolly' when i was younger and I still get it now @ 23!

Hope nicknames don't stick. My little boy is 2 and ever since he was born my dad has called him 'Chunky' because he had fat thighs. It is quite cute though. XXX

Sonny is his nickname as his real name is unpronouncable to most English speakers, he also gets called his middle name Jackson by a lot of people in UK but at home it is mostly Sonny but sometimes munki, baby G (dunno why but I like it) & faker (when he is whinging for no reason) so he is going to be really confused when he gets older!!!

My parents-in-law started calling LO cheeky monkey, cos when she was first born she was really clingy and always attached to me as if I was mother ape with a little chimp!! And it seems like it's sticking, we've ended up getting one if those car signs with 'cheeky monkey on board' and she keeps being given little cuddly toy monkeys!

Beebee, if you don't mind me asking, what is LO's real name? I'm intrigued!

Pan-ya, it is a thai name meaning to hold wisdom, coupled with our very hard to pronounce suname makes it just too hard for people here, hence the middle name usage & nickname

My 5 year old boy Charlie has been called 'chimp', and 'larly chops' cos he called himself Larly when learning to talk! As he's five we try not to embarrass him anymore! My 2 year old Alfie is called 'Alfonzo' or 'Fonzie' and my 8wk old is 'my little GG' (gorgeous Gracie), 'Gracie grews'?! or Moodles!
On top of that, my dad calls her 'Maisie' and my mum calls her 'Rosie' - think that's more old timer's disease as they call it, not nickname stuff! She is the 1st grandaughter of 5 so any girly name goes!

My 2 year old Ophelia gets called Fee but my 16 year old calls her 'fifi pixie smell'! I have no idea why! Bryn gets 'the Brynster' by his dad - I quite often call him finn - but only because i start to say Fee (through force of habit) then change it half way through to Bryn - I put it down to tiredness and age! x

Well we call Joshua anything but Joshua I think! He's usually called the bubs, bubsicle, bubilious, bubaluba-dingdong, cheeky monkey, faker (for the same reason as beebee) gay (harsh i know and not in the homosexual way just cos sometimes he acts, well, gay!) and little weirdo when he sits there laughing at nothing...which is the absolute cutest thing to watch, to me he'll always be bubs! My family used to call me Plum after the Victoria Plum books and that has stuck and im 24! xxx

I love all these nicknames - we all spent our pregnancys carefully choosing names only to give our lo's a nickname!

We call Neve : Popsy, Nevie or Nevil Knieval - am sure she's not going to like any of them when she's older!
