You poor thing. My lo has also had a cold the last few days so has not been sleeping as well as she was but is managing to get some. Its horrible isn't listening to them grunting away trying to breathe. The drops seemed to have worked a bit for us and last night she managed to get a reasonable amount of sleep.

Hope your little man gets better soon.

Poor Tyler.. and poor you hon. Have you also tried a mucus extractor (from chemist) or taking him into a steamy bathroom for a few minutes?

Hey hon I feel your pain. Oliver has had a cold for around 2 weeks with 3 really dreadful days. The day element was ok but the nights were just horrendous, he couldn't breathe an dwas crying because he was hungry. We propped his head up, and when he woke for a feed we held him upright on us for a good 10 mins to let the mucus settle before we fed him. The only time he got better was when he was sick, it was just pure mucus then he started to feel much better. A week later and he has a bit of a dry cough and still isn't feeding as much as he was (only taking around 24oz a day rather than 30). As sim says, a steamy bathroom always helps. I made DH have along shower and we popped Oliver in his rocker in the bathroom. The aspirators never worked for us really and teh saline drops only worked for a few days.
All I can say is try and keep him as upright as possible. Even now we let Oliver nap on my breastfeeding support pillow on the sofa which is propped up on the arm of the chair so everything is going down rather than collecting.
The other thing the dr said to us to do which we did a couple of times a day (not at every feed) was to miss out a scoop of formula so only 5 scoops to 6oz. Because it's more watery it's easier for them to take.
I didn't know they did baby vicks!
    Big hugs to tyler.xx
