I saw it too and was disgusted. Especially when that bloke said that nothing leaves China for the US until it has cleared customs with all the correct paperwork, but with Britain and Europe its basically anything goes because they have not come down hard enough on the Chinese companies!!!!!

Are our kids not as worthy of protection from dangerous toys as the American kids??? This government are so anxious to not offend other countries that they would rather put our kids at risk!!!

Everyone should boycott those magnetic toys, write to the manufacturers and also write to their MP's!! I know I will be! :x

    Hi
I did not see this wondered if anyone who did could let me know what the toys were that were the problem. Was it anything with a magnet? My friend has bought my nine year old the JML magnetic jewellery set i know she is old enough for things like this and she is pretty good at keeping them away from the younger two but there is always a chance of them picking them up if she has dropped one and does not know....

    Any help would be fantastic....

    Hi scubavic,

there was a 9yr old girl featured who had had some magnetic jewellry, and her and her mates had been putting them on their lips, noses, ears etc. When she had them on her lips she swallowed some of them and they ripped her bowel and she needed emergency op. If your daughter has got them, then I would make sure she knows not to use them as lip jewellry. The other stuff was Polly Pocket magetic stuff, and the Magnetix construction stuff. x

my 8 year old had loads of the polly pocket stuff that was recalled, she got replacements but tbh they are just as bad and as she shares a room with my 3 year old i have taken them away. I had bought her some magnetix for christmas but im seriously considering returning it.

    Thanks girls
My sil has bought nephew quite a lot of the magnetix he is only five after telling her she is like you hayley wondering if to give it him. My childminder has removed all hers that she has for the older children to the loft after one parent who had seen the programme raised concerns...
Wish i had seen it do not think we realise that even buying the best and well know brands they are not always as safe as we would expect...

i would def consider not giving it to kids as it really frightened me. im not normally one of the parents that follows strict guidelines etc but this did worry me as i can see how it would harm. fancy showing it a week before christmas when people have already bought the bloody stuff !!! xx
