    Hi all

Little Tobes has a REALLY spotty bum. Red spots. Quite prominent - i.e big and very noticeable. His bum is a little red down the "crack" part LOL and also sort of underneath his bally bits. He is very sore and uncomfortable down there - he cries and gets very upset when he does a poo or needs a nappy change. Had most of the morning nappy free and not made any difference. Can't find our metanium either!!!

My sister said it could just be bad nappy rash as he's unlikely to get something like chicken pox on the bum to begin with - she said it appears on their tummy or face first.

He does have a few other very tiny tiny pin prick type spots on random bits of his body. They are red but very small - you have to look hard to see they are there!

Any ideas??? Please help! He is so upset with it!

Has a slight temp but nothing worth freaking out about - yet!!!

    Poor little man
Please don't take my word for it - if I were you I'd call NHS Direct to see if they can offer any advice?
But the only thing that comes to mind is that I believe thrush can look like bad nappy rash but with prominant spots rather than just redness? I seem to remember our HV telling us this at our post-natal group. But I don't know what it actually looks like?
Call NHS Direct hun and see what they advise.

My LO had somethin similar a few weeks ago as a result of a viral infection she was getting over. It started on her bum, like big pimples everywhere, and she also had a few random ones, like on the top of her thighs and arms, although these weren't as raised. She eventually got them on her cheeks too and round her mouth, I thought it might be the pox, but GP said it is very common for children to get ll these kinds of rashes when their bodies are dealing with infections.
Just keep the area as dry as possible, and whilst I swear my metanium cream, I didnt want to put it on madams face, so used sudocreme and it was fantastic!

Hi hun, Evie has always suffered from a spotty bum/legs. big-ish red ones like you said. sometimes she has none, more often theres at least one, and she often gets spots on her legs too. Hers isn't related to nappy rash, i still don't know why she gets them but they don't bother her, aren't sore/itchy and she's 2 now.

If it's bothering your LO it'll be worth getting a doc to take a look? xx
