My daughter was constantly noisy when lying down, had hiccups at least once after every feed, possetted out her nose all the time, it smelt acidic and in the end it was hurting her. We got gaviscon sachets, started with 4 a day but it was constipating, so reduced it until happy. After 4 weeks we started to cut it out completely. She didnt have it that badly, but once it started upsetting her I went to the drs. Write down symptoms and times through a few days then go asking their advice and suggestions. Often a HV is better to approach first

hi my 7 month old had this combined with a lactose intolerance it was awful!
basically for his first 8 weeks he cried constantly. he couldnt sleep for long periods, especially when on his back (he is still a poor sleeper but sleeps much better on tummy now)
he had hiccups all the time, would cry after burping or sick up. he would go rigid with pain, very gassy, farting, hard tummy.
he was put on nutrimigen formula to ease the intolerance howver the doc wouldnt do anything else. it helped with the gas and constant screaming, however he was still unsettled when lying down, burping etc so we ended up taking him the hospital who perscribed ranitatine (zantac).
it was very difficult getting anyone to listen esp as we were first time parents they thought we were talking crap!
what symptoms does she have? what makes you think its silentreflux?

yeah that it was my baby boy was like. when u go see the gp take a list of symptoms with u. we kept getting told colic,as he was our first baby, but i knew it wasnt coz he had that as well! the crying in the daytime was a lot different as i could stop it by holding him, cuddles etc. the evening colic crying, nothing would stop it.

I wouldnt expect a miracle cure if i was u either, the formula and zantac helped a hell of a lot, but he was still generally an unsettled baby, and a poor sleeper. we were able to stop his medication and get him on regular formula by the time he was about 5 months.

he is now 8 months and over the last few weeks his sleeping has improved and he is a lot more settled. im guessing his reflux has just sorted itself out.

as i said go to your doctor with confidence, if they try the colic excuse and you dont agree, explain why. if your still not happy, ask for her to be reffered to a specialist.

good luck, let us know how u get onxxx
