    Hi

I've just typed a reply to your post but its disappeared somewhere, anyway I was saying...

My lo is nearly 6 months old and still not sleeping through and wakes for at least one feed through the night normally between 2-3am.
He goes to bed around 8.30 after drinking a 7oz bottle dry but still wakes for another and has close to a 7oz bottle again. As my oh works shifts, its left up to me to get up with him and i'm really tired.

I've read a few posts on hear about dream feeding and think i'll try that tonight. I'll give him his bottle at normal time, put him to bed and feed him again around 11.30 see if that works. Fingers crossed it does.

I think it depends on each baby, the average baby doesnt sleep the whole night through until they are a year old. I have been lucky dd is 4 months and has been sleeping through since she was 11 weeks, we havent done anything different she is changed into her babygrow and grobag and she gets her feed and then goes to sleep. Just keep going and I am sure she will surprise you some night and sleep the whole night through xxx

Beth is 24 weeks and also still has 1-2 night feeds. Last few nights it's been 1 but before that it was 2.

What made it drop to 1 feed from 2 was ditching the dreamfeed!! I think it was messing up her nature sleep rhythm/metabolism. But it might be worth a try. If it doesn't work you can just ditch it again.

I'm almost becoming resigned to the idea that she isn't going to sleep right through for ages. Esp as there's teething, learning to crawl, stand etc to come and that will all probably totally screw nights up (as learning to roll made it a total nightmare for a few weeks) I go to bed at about 8/9ish so I'm not too shattered the next day. I've recently changed to bottle feeding so this weekend I am going to see if OH will do a night feed so I can have a full night in bed! I know I won't sleep right through but it will be so nice to not have to get out of bed!

My lo is 6 mths nearly and she wakes very often.....2 or 3 times a night. (I bfeed).

Weaning to make bubba sleep through is a bit of a falacy, sometimes weaning (like it did in my case) - can disturn their digestive system and in my case lo woke every hr!!!!

    thanks everyone.

yes i am weaning. taylor has about a jar amount of food for dinner and a yoghurt. then she has a bottle (6oz) about 2 or 3 hours later when she goes to bed.

i sometimes dream feed and this does work sometimes but ive been exhausted lately and so have just been leaving her but then ending up waking at about 2/3 then again at about 4/5.

i think though she has a mixture of teething and a viral thing (rash, temperature etc).

but ben didnt sleep through till he was about a year and half so like you say each baby is different!

    thanks xxx

my ds who is 7.5 months was sleeping through from 5 months for about 6 weeks. It all went a bit pear shaped when he started to crawl. For the past few weeks he has been waking frequently throughout the night until last weekend. We tried a few different things... No bath before bedtime as it was causing him to become overtired (instead it's part of playtime during the day) I also drastically reduced the amount of solids I am giving at teatime. I pretty much just give him a bit of finger food now and he eats what he wants then takes a 9oz bottle 1.5 hrs later. This has been the key and he is now sleeping from 7pm until 7am. He does wake but settles fine as he is not hungry.

Have you tried giving a bigger bottle?
