    Hi

As the title says this isn't a very nice post. Today as I was heading back in to the front room I noticed a small piece of cat poo by the safety gate. Now I'm slightly concerned as I don't know whether it fell off the cat as she jumped in the room or Jacob (18 months) has found it, picked it up and dropped it over the gate. I also don't know if he's put any in his mouth (sorry, said it was vile).

I imagine this could happen to quite a few toddlers as they do like to put things in their mouth but jus wondered if it had happened to anyone here. Slightly worried :\(

hi hun well ive had no encounters with cat poo however my ds when he was just 11 months put dog poo in his mouth ...yuck yuck yuck ...we were in the park and he was running around happily and picking up sticks,me and my friend were walking behind him and helping him carry the sticks the next minute he put something in his mouth but by the time i noticed he had already put it in and was gagging away ,followed by me gaging and then panicing and ringing the doctor!! they were crap tbh all they said was "what type of dog poo was it" ...i wasnt aware there were different types!!! anyway the long and short of it is he was absolutly fine and definatly didnt swallow any ,if your worried give nhs direct a call xxx

Hi its not quite the same but had a similar incident the other day. My ds was happily playing and i walked into the kitchen and stood in something sticky thinking it was probably just a raisin my son had dropped and to my horror looked down and there was cat sick everywhere gross. It was right where my son had been playing and pushing his toy bus around. I was really hoping he hadn't put it in his mouth or put his hands in it. After giving him a good wash he's been fine since.
I know its not quite the same as poo though. As chuffedbaby2 said you could ring nhs direct and see what they say, even if it just puts your mind at rest a bit.

My friend's lo ate some dry cat poo once. She was told as it was dry it was less risk of the bacteria. If the poo wasn't dried out/old it might be worth mentioning it to a health professional. Otherwise just monitor lo for signs of upset tum or infection. xx

Not had any personal experience of this, but I would image any form of poo wouldn't taste to nice so I would assume that your lo may have made you aware if he'd decided to have a taste. I would just keep an eye for any signs of being ill. Try not to worry
