I am desperate to find out how my 7 week old manages to stay awake for upto 12 hours, all day long. She is bottle fed and on comfort food due to some digestion problems,
She gets overtired and so grouchy that I can't do anything except hold her and she doesn't even stop crying then. I try every trick I know to bring up wind and not sure what else to do, she has no routine at the moment and sleeps as and when she wants, I try to get her off in the bedroon at night but she will not go longer that 4 hours between feeds, when she was awake all day yesterday I offerred more food which she took.
Could this be a growth spurt, has anyone else had this?
Many thanks for any help

It could indeed be down to a growth spurt affecting sleep/feeding patterns (some will sleep more & feed less whilst others do the opposite). Spurts typically occur around 6wks, 12wks & 16wks. 7wks is still early days & with the days drawing out now you may find baby getting confused by lighter mornings & evenings so attempting to wake early & settle late. Be patient, they do learn & it will get easier with time. Best wishes.
