    Hi,

I'm a first time mum to a 4 week old. I was chatting to another new mum and she mentioned that her baby always turns his head a particular way.

My lo always seems to turn his head to the left, when feeding, asleep, on changing mat and on the play mat.

Do I need to try and make him turn his head the other way?! I honestly had neevr noticed it until my friend mentioned it! I haven't seen anything in a book or anything.

Feel really silly mentioning this tbh!

    Thanks,
    K xx

    Not at all!
My lo always turned the same way and infact her head tilted that way.
It worried me but the hv said it was just the neck muscles growing at different rates.
Sure enough by 6 months her head was straight. I never noticed her moving toward a particular way after that.

My lo always looks towards the left. Its funny because when I was in labour with her they gave me an internal to check if her head position and she was looking to the left then too!

    Hi
The only thing you need to keep an eye on is the flat head thing. My son always turned his head one way and I didn't even think about it at the time until my HV pointed it out and said he may have to have physio - I was mortified at the time as I didn't even think it could be a problem. But just to make sure - maybe mention it to your HV but DO NOT WORRY about it as my son was fine and he didn't need physio at all !! I think its because we have to put babys to sleep in their backs now that it can cause possible problems .
