    Hi Joppy

You've probably already tried this but this is what we did for our lo's wind. Lie him down and move his legs around as though he is riding a bike, then gently massage his tummy before holding his legs up in the air (over his tummy). This usually makes them break wind lol.

Have you tried infacol? We had him on this for a while and it seemed to help a little although I don't think it works for everyone.

    Good luck xx

Lily suffered terribly with trapped wind. I tried infacol to start with, but this actually made her more sick, so once she got to a month old I started using gripe water which has helped a real lot. I also used to wind her every 5 minutes during feeding which helped a little. She's now 16 weeks and is much better with her wind, though I continue to use gripe water at every feed. My HV also showed me a few massage techniques to help ease trapped wind, so it might be worth having a chat with her too.

My LO suffered really really badly with trapped wind too. Like babycakes, infacol made her sick. I found she could stick it for days then suddenly she'd have a day where all hell broke loose and she would just scream her head off!! I found that colic holds really helped her, like lying her across my knees and patting her back (though wear old trousers for that one!) or holding her on my arm tummy down and swaying her. I found the harder she cried the worse she got, so calming her down helped get the wind up. Another good trick I discovered was to sit with my feet on the sofa so my legs were at an angle. I would lie her down then sit her up, and keep doing that, the movement quite often brought the wind up.

Then finally I found this forum, and found a post where someone mentioned dentinox. You can put it straight into the bottle or there's a dropper if you're breastfeeding. We had little or no problem with trapped wind after that.

    HTH!
