Hi all, well we live in a very damp flat which constantly has wet walls and mould growing Before I had little one I would happily spray away with my toxic smelling dettol mould and mildew spray, i got through a quite a few bottles!! Now I'm too scared to do it cos it smells so strong and I'm worried what effect it might have on little one. Anyone got a baby friendly solutions to keep it at bay??

Thanks so much, it's really getting me down:\(

Method cleaning products are made from natural ingredients. They may not be as effective as Dettol but they should keep your place mould free...

You can buy the full range from Homebase.

I know what it's like to live somewhere with rubbish ventilation! Our bathoom doesn't have a window (or a radiator!) so it's a constant battle against condensation and damp!

Thanks for the suggestions girls. Mel7 we do have a dehumidifier. I had it running during the day in little one's room while he wasn't in there and that night he developed a really bad cough which took him 8 weeks to get rid of. I'm sure it was just a coincidence but too scared to use it again as the cough totally disrupted his routine and stopped him sleeping through the night. He never sleeps through now! The dehumidifier is great though and was brilliant before we had him!

Thanks for the suggestion Cath I will have a look into that now

hi, sorry do u rent or do own ur flat? if u rent it then technicaaly ur landlord/council (whoever u rent thru) needs to get ti damp proofed, especially with a baby, it cld be quite detrimental to lo's health, and ur's and ur Ohs too. if the walls are constantly wet as u describe a dehumidifier wion't cut it, it'll need a course of damp proofing, and like i say if u rent then they're obliged to do it as a matter of urgnecy, if not then i'm afraid its up to u. x
