I need some advice from someone who expresses regularly please. I have just started giving my lo expressed milk in a bottle this week. Yesterday I let the in laws look after him and they fed him with a bottle so I missed a feed from the breast. Well, overnight my left breast became very engorged and painful so much so that lo couldn't latch on. I am hoping to go on my 1st night out in a couple of weeks and so will be leaving lo for a couple of feeds to be given by my mum with EBM. What I am worried about is being out with my friends and having huge painful engorged breasts! Is there anything I can do to stop this happening if I am away from lo for a couple of feeds?
I would be so grateful for any advice as I am really looking forward to being able to go out for my friends birthday
    Thank u xx

sounds harsh but im afraid not - unless you express while you're out you will have full boobs from the feeds you miss.
you can hand express to relieve a little bit of the pressure, but i'd advise getting some really good breast pads and take a spare set out with you, then when you get home express off all the milk.
Dont let it stop you going out though!once youve expressed off the pressure you should feel better.

yeah I had this problem too when I went to a wedding, but i actually came home to express between the day and night. my advise is to make sure you express at least when you get in before bed as I woke up a few times completely soaked through and with very sore boobies.
