    Hey all,
well I have been in absolute agony the past few days as we both have thrush for the third time!! This time is much worse and my nipples are really split and bleeding, so I can hardly latch Summer on. Summer would never take a bottle before, we tried everything just to give me a break from the pain but she was having none of it! Now she has started to take a bottle I am really upset that I wont be feeding her for much longer and actually got jealous of the bottle last night lol!! It's so sad to think we have come this far and I feel so guilty for giving up.
I am still feeding her at the mo to relieve my boobs , with bottles when the pain is too much but my boobs are so sore and swollen when I miss a feed, I don't really know how to go about weaning her off of me onto a bottle. I also tried expressing but it was too painful and made me bleed. Any advice would be great!

    Thanks for listening ladies.

Awww hun sorry you have got thrush for the third time - how unfair!! I have been v lucky and never had it, hugs to you!!

I do not have much advice but I am having to wean my little one of the breast onto bottles too (she is 3months on DFriday) she started to get very fussy on the boob and refuses it after 5 mins - believe me I have tried and tried to get her back on but she screams at me until I give her a bottle. Just keep doing as you are let her feed from the breast as long as it feels comfy and gradually decrease the breast feeds and up the bottle feeds.

I just wanted to say do not feel guilty well done for getting this far, you have given your lo the best start in life and any b'feeds from birth is a bonus.

    Good luck hun xx

Thanks guys, that makes me feel better about it. I have tried nipple shields but Summer won't take to them, they are too big for her to latch on to as I only have small nipples lol. I think thats why it took so long to get her to take a bottle.

AmyAmber- sorry to hear you have to stop too! But I suppose we must see it how both of you have said, we have done really well to get this far and have given our babies the best start! I only managed 4 weeks with my first so 4 months is great for me!! I remember feeling really down when I gave up with her too, it must just be the emotions we have to go through after stopping such a special thing. I don't know about you but to me it kind of feels like she doesn't need me any more, even though I know thats not true?!?xxx

Oh hun I'm so sorry you've had to give up!! I feel exactly the same as today I think I might have given Olivia her last ever breastfeed She was down to just one in the morning and now I've hardly got ne left for that. Since I started weaning her and went back on the combined pill (3 weeks ago) my milk has been rapidly drying up. Im so sad as I really enjoyed breastfeeding her. My boobs look truely awful now too!!
How are you and the family getting on? I hav'nt been on here for over 2 months as we moved house and did'nt get reconnected for ages.
Don't feel guilty for giving her a bottle hun. You breastfed her for ages and by the time your giving them solids aswell I think it's prob easier to give them bottles (during the day at least). If you really don't want to give up I would try expressing with a warm flannel and your hands in the shower or bath. That way you can take your time and it will ease the pain a bit. If you are going to give up don't worry. Gradually your milk will dry up, it's amazing how fast mine did. I've gone from 5 or 6 feeds a day to none in less than 3 weeks!! It's sad really but I know my little girl is growing fast and when I started the solids it just went!! They were painful when I missed a feed but they soon adjust hun. At first I expressed just a little and froze it into ice cube trys so I could use it to mix with her babyrice for her breakfast, waste not want not!!! x x x x x

    Hiya hun!!
I haven't seen you on here for ages, now I know why !
It's a horrible feeling isn't it, I can't stand the thought of never feeding her again!
Thats a good point actually, I am going to start weaning her in a month and her milk feeds will start to decrease any way so it's not as if I will be her main source of nutrition for much longer if I was able to carry on. I have only fed her twice today and my boobs don't feel very full, surely my milk can't be drying up that quickly can it? I only started with the bottle yesterday lol!!
We are all really good thanks, Summer is doing new things all the time and Kyah loves school! How are you guys? How are you finding having 3 of them at home?xxx

Yeah I am sad thinking that she is'nt a tiny baby ne more and is getting most of her food from solids now. I feel like I've been made redunant in a way
It's amazing how quickly is does dry up hun! I think the pill did'nt help either tho, but I was so terrified of falling pregnant again I thought it was best in the end.
We are all great thank you hun, it's great to hear from you. Livs is'nt rolling yet, but she seems to move round in her own way somehow???
I put her in her own room for the first time tonight It will be so weird waking up not having her nxt to me in the cot. It was for the best tho really coz she wakes at the slightest noise which is so annoying! Last night we woke her up after a bit of nookie and it took me 2 hours to get her back to sleep and she ended up in our bed!! If we are quiet she will go from 7 or 8ish til 6 or 7ish so I'm hoping she will sleep better now. It's not as bad as I thought having 3, they stress me out at times but I love watching them all interacting with one another. Livs loves watching her older sisters, they keep her entertained!
So glad that Kyah has settled in well at school, I bet she adores Summer!!
I will put some more pics on fb when I find the lead thingy x x x

I know what you mean. I get a bit jealous when other my hubby or mum feeds her!! I am still managing to b'feed her for the night feeds (she is sleepy then so will take to it for longer) so Im cherishing that until she refusues it!

4 months is amazing hun you should be so proud, now you can let oh do more and get yourself in the bath  you deserve it!

Yes I think it is a hormonal thing as when she cries at the breast I do get a bit sad but you have to do whats best for them, wont be long till your lo is weaned then like you said you would of decreased feeds then so well done you for getting so far xxxxxxxx
