    Hi ladies

Back again with yet another question!

I am still managing to exclusively bf Reiss (nearly 3 weeks old) and have noticed that his poo changes quite a bit and I wondered if it was normal. His poo can sometimes be very watery with yellow bits in it, yellow, more solid which I would have thought more normal., slightly greenish (which I just read could be too much foremilk?) He has his bowels opened every single nappy change (roughly every two hours) in fact I have only ever changed his nappy twice since he was born and it hasn't been dirty.

He is also extremely windy in the nappy department - although ironically he hardly ever burps, no matter long I try to wind him for, and he doesn't suffer from colic in the least (please don't let me jinx him!)

Is this normal or does anyone know what if anything it's an indication of?

sounds perfectly normal to me hun (and i had to laugh at the title )

Ollie would go every nappy at first, and as he got older could go up to 10 days without passing his bowels.

they're still getting used to having to pass their bowels at 3 weeks, so it can come in a range of types.... green tho can mean they are getting a bit too much foremilk, but unless its coupled with no weight gain, or weight loss shouldnt be a problem (I'm assuming not every one is green...)

And as for farting! Ollie farts like a trouper, always has done, still does

as for nappies, its if they're not wet there could be a problem, or if the poo is really solid, or very green continuously with no weight gain....

Sounds like you have a good one there

Sounds quite normal to me! Breastfed babies can poo alot, I was told it depends on your milk supply. The poo is basically any extra food that they get over and above what they need, often in bf babies there is hardly any 'spare' as breast milk is so well adapted, but I guess if your supply is really good then there will be more spare stuff. Think the only time you need to worry is if nearly all his poo's have the green tinge.

You seem to be doing really well with the b'f, hope it carries on going so well for you!

Thanks girls! Phew - I'm such a worrier - with my last ds I NEVER went to clinic to get him weighed as he was ff and I could see what he was taking, but with this one I'm neurotic city and can't wait for clinic to open tomorrow morning to get him weighed again!

Only a couple of nappies in a row are greenish tinged and it's only happened a couple of times so far.

Will I ever calm down and not worry?!

Thanks again you guys - you are real life savers bless youxx

Kyra's poos are the same. She has poo in her nappy at every change too. it's watery with yellow bits in too. So don't worry it's all normal. There just seems to be sooo much of the stuff - i worried that she was pooing too much, but HV seems to be well pleased with her development. Karys xxx

No, you'll never stop worrying! I only stopped worrying about how much Millie weighed when she weaned herself off the breast. Don't know why I wasted so much energy worrying when she was clearly happy and healthy but I suppose it stopped me having to find something else to worry about!

I am determined that this time I will not worry!!! Bet I'll be on here in a few weeks worrying about weight gain again lol

LOL Bedhead - I'll be here to tell you it's all normal and to stop worrying hopefully!

Karys I'm so pleased it's not just me keeping Pampers/Huggies in business - we must go through about 12 nappies a day - whoever suggested washable nappies obviously didn't have a superpooper like these kids!!!

BF babies have spectacular poos and wind!!!!!!!!!!!The great thing is that they rarely get constipated. My first dd who is now 17 was FF and i had to hold her legs up and apart to help her poo. Just awful. Thank god i BF my last 3 kids...

If your dd's could see what you've written about them they'd be mortified! Boys of course don't care - my 4yr old ds is very proud of his big smelly trumpets!

Dee, I'm glad I'm not the only one on here who has much older kids aswell - I feel like a granny sometimes - I've officially given birth over a 20 year period - how scary is that? no more for me mind - tubes well and truly tied now!

S.Y. Have seen the sweetcorn, raisin poops with my other kiids, but this bf'ing is something else - I have never seen such nuclear deposits in a nappy!xx

Sam has a very noisy bum and has some lovely poo's. whats funny is his look of complete satisfaction after he has filled his nappy. although im sure his grin is bigger if he does it straight after i have changed him lol
