Alice Victoria Jones

Friday 26th March 2010 at 9:30am my waters went!!!
After the hospital trying to hold it off for as long as possible (labour sucks by the way!) she was delivered by emergency C Section. At 10.01am she was pulled into the world weighing 2lb 10.5 oz (30 weeks old)

Tuesday 30th March 2010 (1 day old)

Wednesday 31st March 2010 (2 days old)

Thursday 1st April 2010 (3 days old)

Friday 2nd April 2010 (4 days old)

Oh,wow!Congratulations,Corrinne.Welcome to the world tiny baby Alice..She very cute,so tiny.

How is she?How are you?

she is totally fine! When born discovered she had strep b on her skin and in her blood. BUT showing ZERO sign of infection but still being treated as if it was bothering her! they also think maybe that was what broke my waters at 30 weeks (had no idea I had it!!! no tests picked it up!)

she also has the valve in the heart open again but showing ZERO sign of it bothering her breathing so her consultant is rather fasinated by her!!! ♥
She moved today to the high dependancy unit. YAY! lovely quiet room! 4 babies to a room! had another lovely cuddle today with her!

I also sung to her, her song and she snuggled down even more so...its like she settled quicker. omg she is adorable!

8 days old today!  I cant wait to see her tomorrow!

Im good, sore from the section and super tired! might go have a snooze on the sofa before I have to express again

WOW CONGRATULATIONS.  It only seems like yesterday you were saying you were pregnant and how worried you were and now look.

She is adorable, so teeny tiny.  Glad you are both doing okay, the pictures are great.

A big hug to both of you and many congratulations, hope you can take her home soon.

Oh how scary for you hun,10 week early,you look so calm and happy and relaxed in photo's though,motherhood suiting you already hun!

Oh I am pleased you 3 are all well,rest up,express,make sure you at and drink plenty so all's well for the all important cuddle time!

Welcome to the world baby Alice,  what a star.

My son was also born 10wks early weighing 2pnds 6ozs. He is now 2 years old.

You have now entered another world, one that most of us dont really think about. It can sometimes seem a bit scary will all the machines ect going off and everything else that goes on, you will soon get use to it, they are not as bad as they first seem to be. Alice is in the best place and she looks like a little fighter.

Its good news that you are getting cuddles so early on, they must be pleased with how Alice is doing.

My advice is take lots and lots of photo's and video's as these will be wonderful to look back on and show Alice when she is older.

You probably all have a long few months in front of you, njoy every moment you can with alice. Let family and friends rally round as much as they can and help out at home. You may have up and down days but try and support each other as much as you can. It can be a tough time having your baby in hospital but Alice just needs the support and time to grow and hopefully will be home before you know it.

Look after yourselves and your  baby girl. If you need any advice or want to chat feel free. Che x

taken yesterday when she was 10 days old

She is now 2lb 13.5oz! my little chubby grrrl ♥ she can now be dressed in vests which are SUPER huge on her but totally adorable! she just sleeps and is rather content! she doesnt even fuss when we change her nappy or dress her! she is sooo chilled out!
She only cries when her vein thing bursts and they have to pop in a new one, but 3 more days and she will be off the antibiotics and nothing else in her arm!

I missed 2 feeds last night, bloody didnt wake up through my alarm! about to do a pump now and at 10 and try to make up for it...although at 6am hard tits and pumped out 60mil! MY BIGGEST YET! so at least it kinda made up for it!

Wow what a picture, its perfect.

Corrinne, you and Alice both look wonderful, Alice looks so chilled out and cosy, njoying a cuddle from mummy.

Alice seems to be putting on weight really well and every little helps.

Expressing milk can be so difficult at times but 60ml is great, keep up the good work.

Keep us posted on how you are all doing.

im currently in the 30-50 range. I did 50 mil at 10am! so I expect the 1pm "feed" will be about 30ish. it goes up and down which did upset me for a while thinking it SHOULD double every time I pump but...im not a machine and if Alice had been term and on my boobaloob I wouldnt know how many mils were coming out!

Ive just got back from going up town, got her some more vests...upto 5lb...they will be just as huge on her but I need to nest dammit now that my egg has already hatched!!! I feel very tired and achy now. pain meds me thinks and lunch!

She is doing really well, next weigh in is tomorrow. they weigh the babies on Wednesdays and Sundays. im hoping she will be 3lb at least!

The worst expression is the nighttime one. find that really hard to get up!

Im sooo looking forward to holding her again! I hold her every day ♥ Adam is back at work for 4 days so he goes at 9am for an hour long cuddle ♥ he sooo smitten by her

Yesterday Alice started rooting around! so we put her to boobaloob for comfort and also the nurse wanted to see how "advanced" she was. CHOMP right on the boob and sucking! she was trying but then got tired, stopped...then went again and again and again...so due to that! she could now be home in 3 weeks time!!! They want me to keep putting her to boob and encourage her. She cant properly feed yet as its too much to breathe and swallow at the same time BUT she will be there before we know it!

Look at that frowny face haha! ♥ She off her antibiotics tomorrow. yay! gah I cant wait for 2:30pm to come around so I can see her!

I have been following the progress of baby Alice and felt i should stop just reading about her and actually write something! Firstly huge congratulations you must be so relieved that she is doing so well!

She is a georgous little girl and her eyes are just sooo intense!

My 3 all had treatment for group B strep (although not premies) and its horrid with the canular in their tiny arms - but it does its job and all mine were ok. But it will be nice when she has it taken out.

well Monday the cannula was meant to come out. eep. her tummy blew up and they took her off my milk and starved her...but had her on a drip.
She is now back on my milk but I think 2mil or going upto 3mil.
She is better and they think it must have just been wind that blew up the tummy.

Her cannula blew again last night (as I knew it would) but they have one in her foot instead but they are hoping in the next couple of days to have her 100% just my milk which means the cannula can go...at least they didnt have to put it in her head!!! that nearly was an option as her veins are sooo teeny and dont like holding in cannulas!

My alarm is broken on my phone! I planned to get up at 6am to pump and woke up at 8. HUGE sore tits! gah! will do a 10am pump I think! yep yep!
I will also give the nurse a chance to see her before phoning up to see how she is
