Every time they do the stairs they mop the floors and leave behind a greacy flood mess, we have complained so many times im loosing count,we even had to make sure an elderly neighbour was aware of it as she cant see to well.

Well today was the same as any other greasy mop mess but this time adi fell down the stairs on his way to work this morning, did say he should not go in but he said he needed to.

Anyway 10mins later and he was back home saying his shoulder an back were killing him so i said he had a choice, come to the Dr with me(i had appt)or we go to the hospital, for once he realised the hospital was best and it turns out his back is badly bruised and his snapped his ligimant/tendon in his shoulder.

Have complained to as many people as we can at the council and are seeking compensation for loss of earnings and anything else they can do for us,have threatened with legal action this time as they just dont do anything about it apart from send the cleaners back out to mop again with more cold greese mess.

So now waiting for someone from head of complaints to get back to me on what they intend on doing about it.

And Breath!!!! rant done.sorry for essay.

Hi Emma,

That's awful, I hope Adi is ok. It's a shame it takes something like this to happen before people take notice. I hope you are successful in the claim.

xx

Typical council by the sounds of it!

I hope Adi is OK! That is all he needs after everything else he has been through!

My niece's families house has been rewired, new bathroom etc by their housing assosciation. They put plastic covering over the floor and stairs whilst they did the bathroom and my niece (aged 4) caught her foot in the plastic as she left her bedroom and went head first down the stairs and crashed into the wall at the bottom of the stairs!

You will not believe what the council offered them as compensation???? A £10 voucher!!!!

Mel didnt want to say anything as we didnt want to get our hopes up either.

It was a lovely house but a few snags were the problem; The back garden for start, the neighbour had full access to our garden to get to there's even tho they have their own backdoor but had side entrance from our's,dont like to think of other people walking round a house like that.

Then they wanted rent on both places for however long it took us to move in that would be almost 150pound a week and well dont really have that sort of money. Then there was the windows, big big prob, they are the old style wood frame and no way of locking them, also an extracter fan in the middle of the living room one and the kitchen(my mum was burgled(sp)4 times with these dam things)and then the living room still had the gas fire,of no use as radiators around the place but council would not remove it.Why do you need  it.

Anyway this wk for bidding we would have been 1st on every property we bid on but as usual cant because they were all 1st floor flats. just hoping nxt bid is a bit better.

Thanks guys.

His in pain and our Dr has given him some light movements to do so it dont seas up.I spoke with the housing officer today and his kindly given me a form to fill in and send back with the hospital details and they will pass to the insurance dept.

Also the head of housing and the manager of the cleaning company have come out and looked at the stairs and agree it should not be like this and it very dangerous, just dont no why its taken to get to this b4 they have decided to do something about it.

Hi Emma

I must have missed this post. Poor Adi, hope he's managing ok.

Glad they've finally come out and had a look for themselves, i really hope they do something about it before someone else gets hurt.

Good luck with bidding on the houses. We've got the same system up here, my sister's on the list for a 3 bed but has only been succesful bidding on 1 so far but she turned it down because the area was a bit dodgy!!

Our area does hae a name but where we are id fab, have a park out back, tons of fiels space and is suprisingly quiet. When we viewed this flat the housing officer told us the nxt door neighbour was a raisin short of a fruit cake and the police ofetn visit but have living with my parents way so long anything was placid compaired to them. We took it without a worry and have never had a problem with them.

Sorry to hear what happened to Adi....hope he is alright ...just a word of advice if you are going to make a claim against the council get them to put everything in writing including what the fella from the cleaning company said as they have a habit of "Forgetting" what was said .
