I was reading the paper at school earlier and was gobsmacked to read a double page spread about women who have had multiple abortions. The woman featured had had 7 abortions!!!!

I could have sat and cried, not because it was sad but due to the ingorance and arrogance of the middle class woman who thought it was OK!

no I don't read newspapers anymore. That is very shocking Caroline. I don't want to go into my views on the subject but seven terminations is just a form of contraception surely??

That's terrible isn't it?!?!   I can't believe that something so awful and serious can be treated so flippantly.

Can't quite believe that people would use abortions rather than using a form of contraception!

That is shocking!!!

I watched a programme on channel 4 a few months back about women in different situations that have had abortions and there were some very graphic pictures of the procedure being carried out. The consultant told the woman if she had come in the next day for the abprtion he would have refused to carry it out, that is how late she was having it. It made me feel physically sick that some people can be so heartless.

I completely agree with everything said here and can only add my voice to the general concensus that abortion as a form of contraception is an abomination.  I was always pro-choice, and I think I still am, up to a point, but I do believe now that abortion of a perfectly healthy baby beyond about 16 weeks, or even earlier should not be allowed unless in extreme circumstances.

Maybe if the over-stretched NHS were able to put a limit on the number of abortions a woman can recieve free of charge, like with IVF, that would make this kind of woman think again?  For heaven's sake, the pill is free!

Thats a very valid point nicolette, I don't think multiple terminations like this should be on the nhs at all.

I think the same could be said for the morning after pill. It was only something you could get from your GP,but a while ago in the new's it stated you can buy it in your local chemist and young girls can also get it from their school nusre ,and they have no obligation to inform the parents, its wrong as it this is a form of termination.

What i mean is if anything happened to a girl and she hemoraged(sp)her parents wouldnt know and it wouldnt be on her medical records would it. But thats just my thinking tho.

That is so sad. It makes you wonder why the medical professions are allowing this woman to still carry on doing this?! They should be allowed to intervene in situations like this and give the woman the contraceptive jag/ implant as part of the treatment.

Lisa - that is a good idea, more than two or three in a set time frame and you are forced to use a form of contraceptive that you can't forget, or no more NHS freebie abortions.  It is crazy that you only get two free shots at creating life but unlimited at destroying it.
