OH My daughter 15 months old has started to bite me, when she is so angry she usually grinds her teeth so much. I also had little teeth marks over my arms, legs, and my fingers. She usually do it when she is hungry or when the usual tandrums hit. I always ignore her, so she will never return, or if i shout or reply to her she will do it again and again, so better to ignore. and it really works
HTH
cheers

Hi Bhuvana,

Thanks for this! Could i get your age, where you're from and the names and ages of your children, and a pic of you and them to liz.stansfield@magicalia.com? We would love to use your story.

Many thanks,

when my son is teething, he used to bite us. Lucky, it only happens when he is teething and by the age from 14 - 22 mths. His bite bruised us! My husband even got a photo of it!!!

How we deal is once he bite, we will scream at him and said NO, this is not nice. And put him to one side by himself. Soon he learnt that if he bite, we wont hold him at all.

My daughter bit me at about 18 months. I told her off and said mummy wasn't happy with her. She tried to clime up onto my knee and gave me books but I refused until she said sorry. all in all went on for 10 minutes but she didn't say sorry so I just sat her down and explained it was wrong. Thought was the end but then only 2 days ago she bit daddy but this time apologized. Thankfully she has never bit another child and she does attend nursery.

Its a very tricky subject to handle think all you can do is be firm and explain.xx

charlie is 3 and when he gets very angry he still bites when he was younger about 18months he used to bite then aswell and we just thought it was down to him not being able to communicate fully ,we would tell him off and it stopped for a while but it has started  (and he has no probs communicating now)so now he sits on the step for 3 mins and has to apologise and hug the person he has done it to...he knows its wrong because sometimes now after he has done it he says sorry straight away but we still give him time out for it because he needs to learn that he shouldnt do it in the first place
