Hi girls,

I have a question which is probably aimed at Kas and Boo.
I was in Toys r us last night and saw a lovely dolls house.
I want to get it for Katelin for Christmas, but I'm not sure if she is too young.
As you both have girls older than Katelin I wondered if either of your two daughters have one and if so, how old were they when they were bought?
Do you think 17 months is too young to be able to play with it?
She has a dolly with a buggy so she is kind of playing with older toys but was'nt sure if a dolls house was a bit advanced for her.
What do you think?

My daughter has a fisher price little people dolls house that I bought second hand and she loves it. She had it when she was about 2 but would have played with it earlier as she often played withsimilar things at toddler group...I'll try and find a picture...

It says from 1-5 years and my daughter is almost 3 and still plays with it alot. It makes noises as you press the loo, washing machine ect.

I forgot to say - what does the manufacturers age range say? I think if she is playing with a baby doll the house would be the next step up.

Hi lucyanne,
which dolls house was it? I think i agree with Boo, the fisher price/little people stuff tends to be good. If its one of the old fashioned style ones, not sure if she'd fully appreciate it at 17 months, but if you saw it at a good price you could aways put it up for a later date.
The thing is, all children develop at different stages and ages, and you know Katelin best. Niamh wouldnt have been ready for it at that age, but would be now, as in the last couple of months, she's really been into imaginative play.
Sorry I cant be more helpfull.
let us know what you decide.
Kas xx

Hi Kas,

No it is helpful.
Your point about imaginative play helped me make up my mind.
She is too young for it but its half price so I think I will get it but not give it to her this christmas. maybe next year.
Thanks for replying.

I think I have seen the one! It is massive and their lots of things to go in it! Zoe would love it but she's nearly 3 and i think you would need to be about that age to appreciate it. I'm always getting things and saving them up for when they are bigger. I have a wardrobe of sale clothing in sizes that are too big for my children and also lots of books on the shelf for them.

Hi Boo
Just had a look at the little people dolls house you put on your post and that looks much better age wise for Katelin.
I have to get the other one now though, and put it away for a year or so as its a real bargain.
But santa will bring her the little people one for this year.
My son had a little people garage and he loved playing with that. One for Ethan next christmas????

Actually Zoe has a little people garage aswell! It is broken a bit as i got it free second hand. We have a whole lounge full of little people and they seem to pop up everywhere - sometimes I think they may be breeding!

I bought Ethan a couple of pieces from the littlepeople range, i thought they were lovely but ethan hasn't bothered with them once! I'm holding on to them in the hope that amber will do them justice!

Hi Lucyanne,

We have been having a sort out and got the Little people range out that was Jack's. He never really took to it so it was put away but Charl loves it. She's only a few months older than Katelin so i'm sure Katelin will too. There are so many to choose from, and there are no small peices to watch out for. Definately one to look into.

Well i have just brought Jessica her first birthday present and you might think i am mad, but i brought her the cherry lane cottage from elc. I wanted to get her something that will last her and almost like a keepsake ( i also want to play with it!)
