Right as my darling daughter seems set on me getting up at 6 every morning I thought i'd start a post where anyone else who has lovely little early risers can come and moan about whilst we try to stay awake!

I'm guessing i might be the only one on the computer at this time so i'll have to moan alone!

Hi Tasha, I'll have a chat too. Niamhs up over an hour early this morn. It must have been the long nap she had yest. She's started dropping the aft nap, but had one yest. Think she's all slept out now.

Hi you are definatly not alone my two like to get up early too. 6am every morning without fail.
They usually go to bed at 7.30 and usually sleep all night (last night up at about 2.30-3 and wanted to play ended up laying down on their bed with them just to try and get some more sleep)
Dont know whats going to happen after Saterday when clocks go back we have been trying to get them to bed a little later each night for the past week but its had no effect so far.

Morning!
It's awful with clocks going back we're dreading losing an hour then the childrens routines will be messed up too!
With twins you must be used to the lack of sleep?!!
Ambers sleeping quite well overnight going from 10 until 5:30 but she then wakes up wanting a good play and i end up coming downstairs so as not to wake Ethan who's sleeping great at the moment!

I read your post under premature babies, i'm so glad Joshua and Shannon did so well! You must be busy organising their birthdays and christmas?!! xx

Hi Tasha
the sleeping has been fairly good for awhile but the early mornings are hard as they both are wide awake, hyper and wanting my attention (im satin the window bay behind a babydan room divider writing this)
i know from saturday its going to get worse.

yes its like a toy libuary in my house already i dont know where im going to put any more toys.
iv tried going through them to see what they dont need any more but most of their toys go from 1-3years and most are educational.
and the inlaws have bought the mini quad bikes (the things are huge a kitchen and builders work bench thing dolls pram/cot set )they are spoilt rotten by them.
the amount they have brought them we dont and know one else really needs to bother.
it drives me mad if i mention some thing i want to get my mother inlaw has already got it or goes out and gets it.
Are all inlaws like that?

It does help to be able to come on here when you've been forced awake doesn't it?!

Our house became a bit like toy library too and this was before amber came along, simply because ethan has 4 auntys 4godparents and 2 sets of grandparents who all buy big presents! We've recently introduced structured play basically through necessity to clear our lounge of toys! We're lucky enough to have acupboard under the stairs so we organised all Ethans toys into plastic toyboxes so we have a duplo box, bob the builder, cars, dressing up etc. We kept 1toy box out filled with toys that ethan can have whenever. Each day Ethan chooses which box he'd like to play with, when he wants to change he knows he has to tidy up first. It's really made a difference and Ethan also seems to play better on his own since we've started this.

My in laws have been opposite to yours in that they're desperate not to spoil Ethan (though they're still generous) and for Christmas this year they're putting money in a savings account as they said the children don't need new toys!!
My mum is very sweet and as she doesn't have a lot of money to spare she loves to get the kids little treats all year round rather than large presents at christmas. She's forever coming roung with a car or magazine etc for Ethan!

By the way i'm an identical twin and have always loved it!
Hope to chat some more soon even if it is early in the morning! Take care x

Well, she's done it again!! I managed to get her to sleep until 6 by constantly putting her dummy back in but now she's fed she wants up!!
I know that it's not that she's having too much sleep in the day because she's still exhausted and will probably have a good hours nap soon it's just she's awake now and if i don't come down, she'll wake her brother up too! Arghhh!

Oh well, i'll have a cup of tea, it might wake me up! xx

Hi Tasha
you poor thing.
my two have both woken several times over night so i refused to get up until 7 they just sat in their room moaning after about 10mins of shouting at the gate.
i wish my mother inlaw was like your mum i know that she likes to spoil them because they are likely to be her only grandchildren but they really dont need so much and my parents are like yours and cant afford to do it (even though they would love to)and they also have 4other grandchildren aswell

i have done what you have with the boxes so the get to play with different things each day they seem to like the music box the best (im starting to like it the least though).
Twin1 Tasha

Morning!

mine like the music box best too I've learnt to block the noise out!

Ethans been going to music classes since he was 5months old and Amber starts them next week! The classes been good because Ethan now at least attemps to make music rather than seeing how loud he can bang a drum!!!

my mother in laws looking after Ethan at my house today as Ambers got a hospital appointment but it means i have to make the house spotless and hide half the toys so she doesn't say Ethans spoilt! Joy!!!

Hope you're well xx

Hi Tasha
I have the opposite problem when the in-laws come round, if their are not enough toys I'm not giving them a choice of toys to play with.
Is Amber's problem a feeding issue?
Josh had reflux until he was about 10months old when it stopped and he began to love all food, but at a year old he suddenly went right off everything even to the point of screaming if you tried to put anything in his mouth.
The health visitors and doctors said it was just a phase and to give less milk then he would eat, but he didn't and lost a lot of weight. This went on for nearly 5months until Josh started seeing a speech therapist and i mentioned my concerns to her and immediately she refereed him the feeding clinic it turned out that our poor baby's reflux had returned as silent reflux(heart burn) and he had been in agony with it all this time.
They got him on some medicines and the dietitian gave us diet sheets of things that wouldn't irritate his little tummy and things improved dramatically, he stared to eat some of the things he used to like and re-gained the weight he had lost and became a much happier boy.

Hope your appointment goes well and little Amber is OK

What is it with cbeebies, its just to much at 6am to be all jumping and loud with big cook litle coook and boogie beebies.
I need time to wake up first.

Good Morning!!

I'm afraid i have a big smile on myface as my little angels let me sleep in until 7:20 this morning!!!!!
I fed Amber at 5:00 then was very naughty and put her in our bed just so she'd go back to sleep!

I love cbeebies in the morning for the simple reason that it keeps ethan entertained on our bed while we doze!!

i hope you're all well chat soon no doubt x

I don't think that's naughty at all Tasha, i put Cameron in beside us most mornings. He doesn't usually sleep but it gives me a chance to have an extra half hour in bed to wake up properly, then i leave him with his daddy while i go and get breakfast ready!!!

Morning!

Well it's 6:45 and Ambers been awake since 5am, i was just getting her back to sleep when she poohed. It turned out to be a massive bout of diahreahh so she has already had a bath this morning!!!

I think i'm going to have to take her to the out of hours doctors this weekend, possibly today because she's been poorly for a week now and although she's been checked over by doctors twice (once when i took her to the docs the other was the consultant at Ambers hospital appointment) i just don't think it's right for a child to have constant diahreahh for a week. Also it's aggrevating the scars on Ambers bottom from when she was so poorly as a baby so think i'll get her checked again.

Joshan (or is it Jean)?!, It must have been so hard what poor Joshua went through with the reflux especially with fighting so hard as a prem baby (i read the message in the other forum) i hope he's much better now has he been able to regain the weight?
Amber's been diagnosed as primary lactose intollerance which means her body can't tolerate any complex sugars. It started at 2 days old when she bagan reacting to my breastmilk but nothing was done until she was 9weeks old and in desperation we put her on soya milk. within 12 hours she was healthy and is still good on soya it's just that's nearly all she can tolerate for now!!! Luckily she's a big girl (21 lb 12oz) so if we have any problems she has back up!!!

Anyway i hope you have a lovely weekend chat soon xx

Thanks Dawn

I'm just determined not to start any bad habits this time, not that i think having baby in bed is bad it's just with Ethan, by the time he was 8 months he slept in bed with us feeding on me virtually all night and it took us a good 3 months to sort out so i'm concious of ending up the same way with Amber.

Although at the moment i'll do anything to get another hours sleep and stuff the routine!!!!

Hope you're well have a good weekend xx
