thanks for asking,

andrew was rushing about this morning trying to do too much at once and left the top stair gate open, jack doing his usual morning ritual of dragging the contents of his bedroom through to me while i fed lola and tripped holiding a blacket stacking buckets (huge ones) two cars and his slippers and went head first downstairs, im sooo angry with andrew, but we all make stupid mistakes and he feels bad enough! jack screamed then brushed himself down and wanted to go back upstairs for a bath so i wasnt to worried, but since the whole baby p thing i feel like every bruise i should be warry just incase somethings said and were having a review for both kids monday with the hv and im worried hell get up tomorow looking batterd!! hes been fine all day tho! xxx

Laura, just going on what jade said boys will be boys and im sure he'll get plenty more bruises ,bump, lumps and scrapes along the way. Its the falling over an bitten lip that looks worse than what it is. Even without kids im sure you HV will understand and must have seen tons of kids with bumps and briuses. Dont worry im sure your be fine.

A tip if you dont already know:

Remember if ever a bleed in the mouth use sugar as it stops it and stops them crying to.

Thats good laura that ihs gont no marks, you wait when his older if he dont have a scar to prove it he wont be able to impress his mates.

I was such an accident prone child when i was little, the Dr said if i ever wanted to reach my 4th birthday i should stay out of the hospital.lol |The worst i did was cut my bottom lip almost of with a razor blade.

ben hadn't had any split lips until about 3 weeks ago, and since then he's had about 4!! little boys are always going to be accident prone, am sure your hv is used to it! besides, they're trained to look for unusual bruises which i'm sure he won't have.

since the stair gates came down in our house it's only been mummy and daddy who have fallen down the stairs !

Laura, hope Jacks okay.I'm sure if he'd done himself any damage you'd know by now.You should never feel you have to answer for every bruise and knock on your child, although I have to say we had one or two nasties.Harry had a huge black eye when he was about 3.Still don't know exactly what happened, cos I was in the bathroom,he and Bridie were up to mischeif with the talc. When I heard a crash and a scream it'd already happened. It took about three weeks to go down and longer to fade away.I was too ashamed to take him out .It looked awful.Erin was the worst though, always in such a hurry, running everywhere, always hitting her head on door frames in particular, always bumps on her head.Any hv will know what toddlers are like.Accidents do happen.Arwen fell down the stairs, top to bottom twice in a week, both times completely unharmedI'm sure it'll be fine.

Im not sure if it is jsut little boys, Hollie is the same going everywhere at a fast pace and carrying things that are way too heavy for her. Her latest trick is to pick up her rocking horse and try and put it on the settee next to her.

Dont worry about the hvs reaction surely if she is working with children on a day to day basis then she should realise that accidents happen especially at this age. And i know with Hollie she is covered in bruises some of them i  have no idea how she got. She woke up yesterday morning with a cut bottom lip and the only thing i can think of is she bit it in her sleep or whilst having a coughing fit.

I hope jack is ok though and doesnt seem too bothered by his fall. xx
