Hi all, thanks for my own post!! Last night was fine and shift went quickly but to be honest i hated it
Just think i've come to the end of my time in care, the residents are very demanding and are fully dependant and won't go into detail as to what they do just that its really not nice and would put you off your breakfast! Just don't want to do that now i have jd. Will carry on as got to at the min but think a new job poss not far away

Oh Sarah, what a shame you hated it. But I can see what you mean, that you feel differently now you have JD.

Hope they didn't take advantage of you because you're new.

Feel very disappointed bout it but going to give it a few more go's as been off work for 9 months so bound to be a shock. Feeling very bleary eyed now!!!! Just waiting til 12 then jd goes for his 2 hour nap and i'll be straight in bed too!

Sarah i was surprised to see you on here, hope you get a good rest.

I know what you mean by some of the things they do, my friends mother used to work in a care home and she used to have some horrible stories. My mam also has some from working in the hospital with older people when she was on a different ward. It isnt something i could do, i respect everyine else who can cope with it.

Hi Sarah, good for you for giving it a go! See how you feel after a few more shifts but don't beat yourself up about it if you decide to try something else. Everything changes when you have a baby and sometimes its nice to try something new. I struggled on with a very stressful job until Tom was 4 then one day cracked! Im so glad as I have such a different lifestyle now.

I looked after my grandmother when she was very elderly once and she was fully dependent, so I know exactly what you mean. It wasn't nice but I suppose it was different as it was my nan. I loved her so I did it as she had looked after me when I needed her. But would be harder with a stranger.

Hope you are now having a very much deserved sleep xxx

Hiya Sarah

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy work last night, but i can totally see where you're coming from. My sister works in a care home, and after hearing what she has to deal with it's certainly not a job that i could do.

Hope you've managed to get a couple of hours shut-eye while Jd was napping!!

Take care xxx
