Summer hols is starting tomorrow, I need to entertain my three kids (by myself!) bearing in mind Tom is 9 its quite hard finding activities that suit them all, im also on a budget ££££!!

Anyone know of any cheap days out and about in London/Kent or any suggestions for play at home. I feel as though im struggling to come up with ideas at the moment! HELP!

Do you have a local play scheme? Ours do free daytime activities.

Libraries and museums also do free activites.

What about doing a "make a monster / robot/ etc" challenge using odds and ends.

Who can make the best.........tent, den etc?

Nature Treasure hunt, make a grid with 12 squares. In each square use a word or picture depending on their ages, eg. red flower, round leaf. They should gather the items and stick them in the square. Prize for the first to get all 12!

Baking or cooking, alternatively get a pack of tesco value buns, icing sugar and sweets and just decorate your own buns.

Write a story and draw pictures to go with it.

Potato prints!

Get some cheap t-shirts and let them do their own design with fabric pens!

Sorry Nicola, that is about all my brain can come up with!

Omg i cant wait until Hollie is older to do some of those, caroline they are great ideas. I might have to print this page off and save it for when she is a little older. Mel i loved making gloop when i was younger too, it feels amazing but such a strange thing. If i made it now, Hollie would propably eat it.

oh wow, thanks Caroline!! We have a fab playscheme near us that Tom could go to...but he won't go on his own, he's funny he used to be so outgoing but now he only likes things his friends go to. Anyway am loving some of your arty crafty ideas. We could do lots of that when luka is sleeping. Thanks Caroline! X

They are great ideas Caroline. I have my niece and nephew on Wednesday and was racking my brain on what I could do with them for a full day and night so these ideas will hopefully make me the fun auntie!
