thanks all for your messages, here and on facebook.

We are all doing well.

I had emily Violet although she is to be known as Violet on 7th April at 6.50am.

I went into be induced at 7.30 the following morning and was given a new drug to induce labour. After about 3 hours I was having 6 contractions in 10 minutes and that continued for a while. After about 2 hours I had gone from 2 cms to 3 cms and tey decided to take out the inducing drug just in case it over sitmulated my uterus they didnt want me going too quick. then at around 10pm I went to delivery suite still having around 6-7 contractions in 10 minutes and as sods law has it got round there and they stopped and I was still 3 cms.

I had a shower and rested for a bit then at 2 am they broke my waters and at 4 I went on the drip. and at 4 was when labour actually began because it was only then that my cervix stopped being positior or something. Then it was really quick contractions were strong and fast and I was that tired at this point I was literally breathing gas and air in my sleep, I just kept collapsing in between. I asked for more pain relief and was given an internal to find I was actually over 9 cms and on the verge of pushing rigt then I started pushing without even realising. then the panic of only having gas and air hit me. within 15 minutes of pushing she was born and 5 min later so was the placeta. my labour was in total 2 hrs 55 min from start to finish although it took a while getting started.  I am pleased to say I had no tears or stitches and she was an impressive 7lb 5.5oz's.

after about 3 hours after the birth Violet still had not fed and was grunting so called midwide. the a Paedartrican came in and before I even had time to cover myself up she was taken to special care. and I was told I was not allowed to see her for at least 2 hours, so they could do tests without me getting upset. So I was taken to the ward were I slept ntikl I was allowed to see her. She was on air and had a drip for antibiotics and for glucose top ups has her blood sugar level was low. few hours later she came off the air and was just getting glucose and anti-bio. I started to express milk so that they could tube feed her that instead of formula and they put a tube in and stopped the drip, She had her first breastfeed yesterday wednesday morning and I kept feeding her through the day. by that night she was off the tube feeds and off the drip. and through wed night they decided that she didnt need her i.v anymore and that she could join me on the ward. So early hours thursday morning she came to my bed and we got out last night.

And belive it or not she had a feed when we went to bed around 12, then again at 2.30 then at 7.30. I am gob smacked, she has been so good  and is really chilled and laid back. I will get pictures up here soon, I just need to sort out this computer to upload them.

thanks again for all your kind comments!
