I have had enough of my teeth!!!

Having lost 3/4 of a tooth last week I went to the dentist on Monday to get a dressing on it as I was worried that I might damage it more and end up in pain! He filled it with a temporary dressing and since I got home I have been in mega pain!!! I am eating paracetamol like smarties, rubbing clove oil and teething gel into the gums and have just been naughty and taken ibuprofen as I couldn't stand the pain any longer! Thankfully double dosing seems to have done the trick and the pain has dulled. I have been up half the night in pain and need to ring the dentist again today to get him to sort it out! The only problem being that its a 75 min drive each way so it costs me a bomb in diesel at the mo!!!!

Sorry but I needed a rant!!!

Caroline,

You are right to ring back, you shouldn't be in so much pain. But believe me you DON'T want dentures!!

Zoe xx

I can empathise with your pain - toothache is just the worst :-( I would agree with other posters that dentures should be a last resort.

Caroline, Have you tried rubbing sensodyne (original) toothpaste around the area that hurts? It helps to take the pain away.

I rang the dentist and they can only fit me in tomorrow morning! The pain has lessened but that could be due to the huge amount of painkillers that are loitering in my system!!

My teeth are a nightmare!!

The pain is coming back!!! I need more painkillers, I won't tell you how many and what I have taken in the last 36 hours!!!! I felt like half of my face was about to drop off!!!

I know that I shouldn't be taking painkillers but needs must!!!! I figure I need to be happy to have a happy baby and some mums smoke, drink, take drugs etc all through their pregnancies with no ill effects so a few pinkillers shouldn't do us any harm!!

Oh caroline, it sounds like you are really suffering, i'm sure those dentures are sounding more appealing by the minute - I really think you should call an emergency dentist - being pregnant they need to sort this out immediatly.

I bought codiene yesterday and that is the only thing that works!! Although I did have to take more than 8 in 24 hours!!!

Hopefully today it will be sorted. If its not sorted I will probably need a good defence lawyer
