hi girlies how are you all doing??

whats been happening in the land of mummies?

well sorry i havent been on here for a while but things havent been to great here, so been trying to get things sorted. i'd been feeling very very low for a few weeks and getting rather angry with charlie for no reason at all really so after having chats with my lovely hv and gp it looks as tho i have a form of post-natal depression, so i'm pleased to say that things are getting back on track extremely well and i'm feeling loads better than what i did, so fingers crossed this horrible feeling i've had for the past few months (if i look back and be totally honest with myself) will be knocked on the head soon enough.

charlie started pre-school to which is fab for both of us and he's having a great time.

hope you all well

take care x

Hi,Zoe.Nice to have you back.Sorry you've not been well. That sounds really horrible.Glad you've got some help and hope things will get better soon.

Love Charlie's new pic,how old is he now,he looks so grown up.

Same old same old with us.Washing,housework,school.I've a new gardening obsession taking up far too much time at the moment, but it's great to get out in the sunshine.Hoping to have my very own veggie garden growing in a few weeks.Growing veggies and fruit, not babies, is all new for us.Muck and wellies we're loving it.

hey girls good to hear from you both, sounds like you're both being kept just as busy as me lol a mummy's work is never done

charlie is 2 and he looks so grown up in this pic his dad couldnt believe how much he'd changed in the space of a few months, and i'm sure he'll change even more before john gets home in august but we'll continue to send him lots of pics so he can be kept up to date.

we are going to attempt to grow our own veggies to as we've just received the 'dig in' pack off of cbeebies which includes packs of veg/salad seeds and a little book on how to grow them etc so hopefully we'll be successful, we'll have to wait and see.

hey!

Just wanted to say hi and that i had 'delayed pnd' as well. my son was over one when i realised i needed help. And looking back i think i had it after my daughter was born too.

It does get better, and when we admit it, it feels like we take more control.

My HV missed it but have a fantastic GP, who i quite simply think saved me from the misery i was in.

if you want to chat - please let me know. x

hi pip

its really good to know that someone else has expericened this because some of my friends look at me as tho i'm talking rubbish probably because charlie is now 2 and i think most people assume that you only get pnd after baby is born.

i'm feeling alot better since chatting with my hv and gp and since taking tablets that he's prescribed but thinking of going back to him and ask for them to be changed as since taking them they have rapidly increased my appetite to the point where all i seem to want to do is eat all the time and this is something i dont want as i joined ww in sept and so far have lost just over a stone and really want to lose more and by eating so much i can already feel low etc again. does that sound silly??

take care

zoe xx

Hey Zoe,i'm fine thanks Tom been under the weather to say the least,he had sickness bug bless him getting there now tho.

Took him to docs this am for ezcema review-which I'm pleased to report is virtually gone!!!!!!!! new cream working a treat!!! Jc still as naughty as ever, was on naughty step 6 times before 12 yesterday-doesn't work with him,he finds it hilarious to sneak up behind me and shout 'tah dah' as loud as he can(which is pretty damn loud!)

He hit Ian with a huge metal car the minute he came in from work, then tried to slap him when he had a telling off naughty step yet again,no 'tah dah's' tonight tho!!!!

Cheeky monkey! I'll be grey soon. You sound much better hun, glad tabs doing their job,but I'd speak to doc again, all that hard work with ww. Have you managed to maintain that weight(before tabs?) Lucky you if you have x Take care x x

hiya.

Yes it is hard for people to understand that it can hit late, but it does and can still be hard to deal with.

Although i am ok now i still have some very 'dark times' but thankfully have a wonderfull husband and great GP.

I was on Fluexatine which, for me, was great. It did make me loose my appetite - although how much of that was down to the PND i dont know.

I also had CBT (cognitive Behavoral Therapy), set up by GP, which was what really helped me turn a corner, and am now off my drugs.

Don't rush coming off them though, and it is recommended that you stay on medication for 6 months after you start to feel 'normal', as otherwise you may find you need to go back on them.

stay strong,x

Your first post reminds me of how i was years ago.  thinking back, i think i had PND after my second child, which probably carried on after my 3rd one too.  I was always cross,  always very irritated, crying alot too.,  i feel alot better now, although at times i could cry so so easily.  i have never got help, although i did say to my OH once that i thought i might be depressed, and he told me not to  be so stupid, that he knew i wasn't, and he would know if i was.
