Thank you all for your messages. Jack was thrilled you all sent them to him.

Yesterday was a long day but absolutely brilliant. We got to Ipswich just after 12 so sat by the car and had a picnic!! Then about 2 o'clock we walked around the pits, introduced Jack to the drivers he was mascot for and did the rounds with the other drivers. Lenny and Tom were fab with Jack and made a real fuss over him. He was so excited all he kept asking was, "how many minutes to go now mum?"

Then his moment came. We met up at the meeting point and were taken into a holding area. The children were put in a line and then they paired the children up with there drivers. The drivers were then introduced to the crowd as they came out onto the track in there two's and the children's names were read out to. They all then got on the top deck of a double decker bus and did two laps of the track!!!! Jack was at the front!! Bless him, he loved every minute. Once they got off the bus, the drivers went to there cars and the kids back to the parents. We then rushed back to our spot to watch the race.

Later on that night there was a big firework display which was lovely. Jack said before the last race "I like it here mummy". The meeting finished at 9.45, we were back home for quarter to one this morning. He was still grining from ear to ear this morning.

Here are some pics

Hi girls,

Once again, thank you for your comments. Pauline, I love what you said, it sums him up perfectly!!

I just can't believe after the build up to the event it's now happened and that's it. Will just have to wait and see if they will do it again next year, and even if they do, if Jack is lucky enough to take part.

If anyone lives in the BBC Look East region you may well see some footage as there was a camera crew filming. Not been on the website yet to see if any of us got on!!

xx

Hi Zoe,

They are such fab pics. WOW what a day you all had. I love the last pic of Jack with the winner. His Face is just beaming. What a wonderful memory for Jack. I can imagine that he ( and you and James) were absolutley shattered when you got home and all went to bed with huge grins on your faces. I know Jack has already told me that he's going to be s SC driver when he grows up, but the pic of him walking off with the 2 drivers confirms it. He's a natural, bless him.

I could make him out on the pic of him on the bus that you sent me yesterday. Aaron is a little green , to say the least.

Here's looking to the next one xxx

WELL DONE JACK !!!!!!!!!! xxx

They are great pics and ones he can look back on later on in life. Glad you all had a great day.

Would love to take riley sometime as i loved watching the banger racing as a kid with my step dad, and im sure riley would love to watch any car whizzing round a track.

Wow sounds like you all had a great time. And it is so lovely that the drivers were great with the kids, Jack looks really happy and pleased in those photos. They are great pictures and will be lovely for him to keep and show his children when he is older. This day will stay in his memory for a long time to come. It looks like you had great weather too, which is fab. xx
