I popped down the shop today and ended up giving blood!

I went to get some milk, Jessica was at home with Tony and they had the blood bank at the community hall near the shop, i had been meaning to give blood for ages, so i went in and did it!

Felt really good about myself and it did not hurt at all, however think i might do it on my day off next time as i was in a heavy duty client this afternoon and went as white as a sheet and nearly passed out!

I am so scared of needles but my mum gives blood every month

Well Done Simone!
I always used to give blood but then the last few times they wrote to me to tell me that they hadn't got enough out and therefor would dispose of it!!!! I was gutted! For some strange reason my body just refuses to release my blood!

Sarah, you will have blood taken loads when you are pregnant!!!!! Get over the phobia!!! Besides, if you needed a blood transfusion would you still be scared???

Yeah I'm hoping that once I get preggers and used to injections I can give blood - my mum has always encouraged me to do it

Well done Simone that is great. I too would like to give blood, have never done it yet though as kept getting tattoos and piercings so had to wait. And now i think i have to wait until i finish feeding Hollie before giving blood.

I had a transfusion, yuk. Don't mind needles but I hate blood being taken. They won't let me give blood now because I was given the transfusion at the height of the made cow (CJD) scare! Don't know what they are worried about, anyway gotta go and graze see ya soon.

Well done hun.

I have never been able to as i suffer with low iron but when i was preggers it shot up,maybe i get it checked out at some point as ive never(touch wood)had a problem since.
