Hi,
Just thought I would ask what washing powder people use. I asked the healt visitor today to have a look at Bronwyn's belly as she's got small red dots that feel like dry skin.
They have suggested that I change washing powder, I have a problem as I am allergic to Daz, Fairy, Aerial and Bold. I use non-bio tesco's own make at the minute. I am thinking about buying washballs from lakeland and wondered if anyone else used these??

I use tesco non-bio my families skin flares up when we change washing liquid. Persil seems to be the worst. Ariel make a sensitive skin liquid but I have'nt tried it myself.

I use Fairy non bio tablets and the fairy naturals softener. I also use the balls in my tumble dryer, they are very good.

hope you get it sorted soon. If not, maybe try using aqueous cream to moisturise the skin.

I use fairy non-bio liqui-tabs with the fairy fabric softner.
I also have very sensitive skin and use the aqueous cream that Kas mentioned.

Caroline, I used the aquarous (unsure of spelling, sorry)! on Jake, you can use it in the bath aswell instead of soap. Jake had exzema as a baby, if it got bad then I had this other sruff like thick vasaline, both from doc. I only started used the baby bath stuff from about 18months, use Dove soap which is very good. Last year Jake had a red dotty rash, he was just getting over a cold and doc said it was probably due to getting over cold. I've used fairy powder and tesco non bio.

I have been advised to get aqueous cream to wash her with. I am thinking that by changing the washing powder and bath stuff at the same time i won't be ablt to work out which is causing the rash.

Amber had the same problem a few weeks back so i stopped using bubble bath and baby talc and instead applied Aquaious cream and within a week her skin was almost clear!
I use fairy non bio and comfort pure conditioner in the wash.

I have mega problems as I have reactions to the majority of washing powders myself, fairy is the main one i react to as even the smell gets me.
Again I react to the smell of Dove soap.

Between us we are a nightmare!!!! But thank you for your suggestions. I can't even wash Bronwyn's clothes in fairy as my hands would react from touching her clothes!

Hi Caroline. Have you tried the organic brands, I can't think of any off the top of my head, Ecover or something? They sound as if they should be more gentle. Or maybe one of the lesser known ones like Woolite, or the ones for silk and wool? I have never suffered from this kind of problem so I can't be of much help! There are loads of organic baby toiletry brands out there now, maybe try those on Bronwyn?
