Im mad on wedding dresses at the mow.  I love looking at the web site's and in the magazine.

I prefer non traditional dresses, something different, different colour's.

If you could design your own personal wedding dress what would you have.

I would have a nice soft colour like lilac or lemon but then have a darker colour on it too, like on the lemon i would have maroon flower around the bottom of the dress and coming up the dress at about knee hight.

Oh now i want to go and do my dress.

what would you have.

What are you like Becky you're wedding dress mad!!!!

I'd actually have a completly different dress if i was to get married now! I had a strapless large beaded dress  but now i'd have a slimfitting (if i could carry it off) dress covered with lace and lacey pretty straps ohhh and i'd want it to be fishtail!!!

I would have the same colour as Cheryl had, as I think its lovely.

Off the shoulder sleeves, fitted and coming out at the bottom. And plain, no beading.

Thanks Lucy, I would still go for the same colour (due to matching my hair) though would have loved a fitted dress if I had been slimmer. Perhaps one I could have sat down comfortably in as I couldn't move in mine I was laced in so tight - lol

I was and still am really happy with the one I wore for my wedding.  It was a winter wedding so there was no confusion on the weather - it was going to be cold, so I opted for long sleeves, buttoned to the elbow trimmed with ostrich feathers, off the shoulder, the very wide neck also trimmed with feathers, buttoned down to the hips, fitted to the hips then flaring out with some netting underneath and a train, in a satin fabric.  No other embellishment, just buttons and feathers.  It was practical and yet romantic (called Snow Queen) and I even went ice skating in it at the reception!

i did actually design my own dress and had someone make it.

Because i was so tiny no shops actually could get my size so it was just cheaper for me to get it made. It was made from duchess satin with a full skirt and small train the bodice has little roses in goldy brown over and came down into a deep v at the back where i had a large rose. the back did up by lacees.

I have added a picture i have got though you cant see it too well here!"!

Muckypup - do you mean small as in height or as in annoying and horrible size 0?!  Seriously though, you look lovely, good weather you had aswell, that make such a difference, well, to everyone other than the bride and groom!  I remember well standing outside a hotel on top of a hill near Bolton in a blizzard in a short sleeved corset-style top trying to smile for the wedding photos whilst bridesmaid for my best friend.  She didn't notice the snow of the wind, she was too busy smiling and being happy.

I'm afraid that I have no softcopy photos of my wedding to post, sorry!  I found the shop I got it from exhibiting at a show at Alexandra Palace quite by chance.  The shop was actually based in the next village to where I was living in Hampshire so it was obviously meant to be.

I didn't get the chance to do the full 'trying on every dress in a 100 mile radius' which I had desperately wanted to do, but as it was I got what I wanted.  All you girls dress hunting at the mo, please, please tell us all about it!!!

That is an assumption that is generally made, that unless you have spent two years or more planning your wedding it won't be any good.  We hadn't known each other six months before we married, and planned the whole wedding in around five weeks.  We were lucky I think, everything just fell into place, anything that appeared to be a difficulty someone solved almost immediately.  Like Melanie, it wasn't a big wedding but it was a memorable one.

Nicollette I agree me and my hubby met in August last year, he moved in in two months proposed by booking the registary office in January (without asking me; guess he was so sure I'd say yes). Proposal went wasn't just will you marry me but will you marry me on the 3rd May!. So we only had 13 weeks or so and I wouldn;t change anything about mine. Don't think it could have been any better with two years to plan and mine wasn't a bug wedding 20 adults and 9 kids for the wedding and day reception. Just the people that are really really important to us.

We were actually laughing the other day about so quickly it all happened as its a year to the day we met on Monday next week!

Hi girl's sorry it's been so long.

We havnt set a date yet. My partner say's he want's to get the house sorted.  I thought it was any reason not to marry me.  I found out the other day that it because he doesnt want me to be worried about having people here getting ready for the wedding when the house isnt that nice yet.

Also he didnt want me to be getting ready for MY wedding with MY dress in the house, with it in this state. (dont get me wrong the house isnt a tip but it need's decorating and things)

I always wanted to meet my man fall in love, do the old fasioned corting, and then go house hunting buy a nice house and then get married and then have two kids.

Well it didnt work out like that at all. Well we fell in love, But we got the first house we looked at (which we shouldnt of done) and then had Jared. and still not got married.

Life hay. it doesnt work out the way you want it to.
