Yes, you certainly can use those little faces you see everywhere on MadeForMums!
For the yellow smiley faces (emoticons), just click the arrow next to the smiley face in the grey formatting toolbar at the top of each new message you start. It’s right alongside the bold, italics and other tools.
For ‘tickers’ (the ones where mums can show how many weeks pregnant they are, or show off their little ones’ faces and ages, for example), head to the Chat & Share section, and click on
Forum help. Under ‘Adding a message’ there’s a link,
‘Please help with my ticker’. This should get you started.
As for viewing your ticker and other users’ tickers, we’ve currently set the default to hide, just to keep everything easy to see in this testing phase. You can change this on your own profile though, so all tickers are visible. To learn how to do this, head to the Chat & Share section again, and click on
Forum help. Under 'Preferences', click on the link
‘How to change the appearance of the forum page (showing and hiding member stats, avatars and images, and using an advanced vs simple message editor)’.
