Well worth checking statements.

Hi girls,

Following on from Carolines post about IPC taking a years subscription charge and Magicalia doing the same I got James to check the statements and it's happened to us too.

IPC took the years subscription out of the account in January and Magicalia have done the same in March. They will be getting a call in the morning from us. I suspect if YOU don't pick up the error then it makes this years subscription expensive! Do check.

Thanks to Caroline for bringing it to our attention! The icecreams will be on us next month!

Don't expect a refund in a hurry!!! They told me that the money was refunded on 20th Feb, its 20th March tomorrow and I've still not had it. Apparently it will be sent by cheque and the reason for the double payment being taken is that details weren't transfered when Magicalia took over. So they decided to take a payment anyway!!

This kind of thing makes me really angry. I'll check my statements aswell, just in case.

I worked for a small business some time ago and we dealt with another BIG publisher who had the habit of deducting £1000 from the credit cards of those who had advertised with them and refunding it the next day. No harm you may think, but just think of the interest the publisher earned for having several thousand lots of £1000 for 24hrs at a time... So low and yet very hard to pin down to being fraudulent and not just an admin error. I do hope that Magicalia are not playing the same trick.
