Conception & fertility problems

This is my first time posting on a forum so hoping someone can help and just looking to talk to like minded people.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 2 and a half years. I was on the pill (Yasmin) for 8 years before.
We were referred by GP for fertility investigations a year ago after all blood tests came back normal. The consultant ordered the dye test and tubes etc all clear. Husband's test all came back normal so he said its unexplained infertility.
I had explained to consultant that my cycles all over the place, anything from 27-35 days and spotting for up to 7 days before So he put me on clomid 50mg for 3 months On cd2-6.
Month 1 I just hoped for the best but no clear ovulation on OPKs. Month 2 the same so for month 3 I bought clearblue's digital OPKs. Started on cd9 and got low fertility, cd 10 high fertility and cd11 peak fertility. 3 or 4 days earlier that I had thought it would be. Anyhow I'm on cd 25 now and no spotting but I've got sore boobs. No other symptoms for period or pregnancy. Got BFN on first reponse today so disappointed and getting myself prepared for going back to consultant.
He said he might up dose of clomid to 100mg for a further 3 months or just send me straight for IVF depending on day 21 bloods throughout clomid treatment.
is there anything more I need to be asking for before going down the IVF route?
sorry this is so long. All comments appreciated.xx
