ill try and narrow it down as it's quite a long story so...
6 years ago. I came off the pill (which I was on for 3 years) but didn't get a period for a further 2 years. I kept going to my doctor and I was just told it's the side affects of the mini pill I was on and it will go back to normal eventually. (Recently found out that doctor was sacked!)
changed doctor and they referred Me straight to a specialist. did tests and said that I have polycystic ovaries and because I was over weight they wouldn't do anything to help me until I lost.
After that me and my partner hit rock bottom and decided that we needed to work on us before we got pregnant. Then life got in the way and now we are a few years down the line and married we want to try again.
i have lost 6stone now and have regular periods. But since I came off the pill we haven't actually ever used contraception.
I am due to go back to a specialist next week but Im worried that they are going to say no again and not help me because even though I know I have lost weight Im know I'm still over weight.
Does anyone know what your bmi has to be before you can get help?
Has anyone tried any vitamins or supplements that has worked with having polycystic ovaries?
thanks x x

Im awaiting my referral after year off of the pill 'unofficially trying' and around 18 months 'officially trying' im 34 and the gps makes me feel like ive left it too late and ive not got a lot of advise on what comes next. Ive had bloods etc taken so i guess i wait for those results and the appointment. I really wanted to be checked over to see everything with me was in working order but im not sure thats how it works when your my age. God if i had a time machine id have started all this around 24 not 34 but hey............ what kind of tests did you have initally ? x
