Adventure Playground Revamp?

Wandsworth council is revamping its Adventure playgrounds (Battersea, York Gardens and Kimber Road) so they can be unmanned. Without, the Council employed 'play leaders' who currently manage the sites, the play equipment will have to be much more 'safe' so a lot less adventurous.

Despite lots of opposition from local parents and teens and a last minute offer from Kids Company to take over it's running, the Council has approved the plan to remove the 'riskier' play equipment from Battersea Park Adventure Playground. The supervision of the playgrounds will be put out to tender.

A decision on the proposed changes to the Kimber Road and York Gardens Playgrounds will be taken at a later meeting.
