Balham Library in wandsworth Museums & education

Sadly, Balham library has stopped doing it's popular rhyme time sessions. Different people at the library have given me different explanations as to why this is - budget cuts, staff changes, changes to opening hours so I'm not clear if it is permanent or not. I'll keep checking with them and update if it starts again.

It's such a shame. I've heard different reasons too, hopefully it's just because they're getting someone new to run it, not because of budget cuts. Mind you, the last times we've been, it's either been too full, or the lift has broken and I couldn't get the double buggy up the stairs! They've also culled the library opening times.

That is sad. It was nice to have a local baby class that didn't cost almost £10 and just cater for 'yummy mummies'.

There are lots of other free (or very cheap) groups run by the Council - check out the One O'Clock Clubs and children centre listings. Lots going on for free: baby massage, art, music, stay & play...
