how to contact members by private message?

How do I send a member a private message rather than putting it on the neighbourhood site?

the answer is probably staring me in the face, but I can't work it out...

The only way I can see is a long way around not sure if there is an easier way. If you go into your profile (top right corner)
Then on the left click my messages, then click new message. Oh you need to note the persons name you want to send a message to before all that though.

Might be easier if the tech team added a button under peoples name - or there might be a button somewhere that I can't see and I have just done it the long way.

I was wondering this too but I can see that you can now mouse-over the user's screen name and a pop-up gives you an option to send a message.

Thanks SStwrd, the forums have changed recently and are much more user friendly, I think before the set up was abit different and it wasn't as clear to navigate around!

I always use my phone to come on here, so I can't send a pm at all. Please put a button on that makes this easier.
