Good morning ladies
How did we get on over the weekend?
Due to illness I've not been properly eating or exercising, I did day 13 30ds on Friday night and day 14 Saturday morning but nothing yesterday. Food wise we had an Indian Saturday night, a roast yesterday and last night I scoffed a whole large bar of Dairy Milk fruit & nut. Well a girl can treat herself can't she. I weighed in this morning at 9st 11lb. I weighed myself Friday and it was 9st 9lb, 3lb loss due to illness so glad I've gained a bit over the weekend and only a 1lb loss overall.
And best of all, I had a very successful shopping trip with Nina on Saturday and bought myself size 10 jeans! I was a 14 last summer so am over the bloody moon with myself.
Keep at it girls!!

Well done Belle, size 10 jeans is fab.
I had a very bad weekend, Indian buffet restaurant Friday, birthday cake on Saturday and pizza last night plus lots of booze. Back on track today.

That's expected with a birthday weekend though SW. Did E have fun?
I'm over the moon with my jeans, just need t make sure I don't gain and they end up too small.

Well done on the size 10 jeans Belle!! Getting down in clothes sizes really is one of the biggest boosts when you're losing weight.
SW - just forget the weekend, nothing you can do now.
Mixed weekend here, ate a load of nibble Saturday night, and then a huge Chinese last night, but wasn't too bad for the rest of it.
Fast day today, so not much to eat:
L - soup
D - cod and veg stir fry, sf jelly.

Belle that's awesome. Your size 10 is a size 14 to me. I have a pair of seven for a mankind jeans I've never worn! Maybe next summer I'll be there!
Couldn't log in on Friday but I lost 2 lb last week which I was v chuffed with as I'd had wine and desert on my non fast days. I'm fasting tues and thurs this week. So today I'm eating up leftovers. Pretty healthy mish mash.
Well done to those that revealed their weight, I do agree it's the best way but I'm not ready yet.

Well! I'm really chuffed as my bmi (btw I know bmi doesn't really get used any more and is inaccurate) but if I loose another pound il be 'normal bmi' yesterday I bought some bras and pants as I got rid of the horrible bf bras and I'm now sat with a lovely Lacey black under wired one on! I'm currently in hair dressers with my new underwear on (actually would quite like to show them all ), so new hair doo today and eyebrows this afternoon.
L - miso soup with wasabi, spring onion and shredded chicken
T- Thai fish cakes (everyone having theirs coated in bread crumbs but I'm experimenting and coating mine in oatbran )
Well done Belle! Nothing like a pair of size 10 jeans to make you feel good!! I got some too last week from Dorothy Perkins although size 10 there are quite generous. There's plenty of room in them though!
I had my usual bad weekend, chinese, wine, chocolate but I'm not feeling guilty about it as I'm only trying to maintain my weight, not lose.
Today I'm having -

L - rice pot
T - fishcakes with new pots & veg

Dd and Beez I'm soooo intrigued with this fasting diet. When I get to goal I was thinking of just following a kind of Sw diet 4 days, fast 2 days then treat day (someone in dw does this and I like the idea of it) so what do you have on a fasting day??

Belle - you looked damn hot in those jeans (in a non-*** kinda way!) enjoy it and I am glad you had your indian, wine and chocolate.
DD - how is the fasting diet going? I am not sure I could survive on what you are having today, woudl be so hungry!

MossyE - Great attitude, its nice to know that there is such a thing as having some "normal" food whilst maintaining still
AFM: I had a fantastic weekend, shopping with Belle Saturday, saw loads of clothes I would love to wear which is a great incentive to me, have told OH that I need to go on a spending spree when I get there. Also we went to price up fillers for my lips and i am going to treat myself if I keep this up! Yesterday was aqua then swimming with M, home to make a roast dinner (using fry light - was not bad at all!) and spanish chicken tomato soup for work plus a curry for this evening, trying to keep as prepared as possible so I do not fail. Today for me:
B - 2 weetabix with skimmed milk
L - Spanish tomato and chicken soup with a Mullerlight yogurt
D - chicken curry with garlic brocoli and rice, followed by fruit salad
S - Banana and satsuma, fruit tea
Hopefully will fit in the gym tonight but I have a call starting at 9pm so it depends what time I get in

I've only had 2 so far.
I think they recommend breakfast abc dinner but I tend to do brunch and dinner.
Day 1 I had 2 eggs, tangerine, veg soup (homemade, carb light)
Day 2 I had bran flakes, small banana, prawn & veg stir fry.
The book is brilliant I just picked up a second copy for less than a fiver on eBay. Recommend reading it.

Beez - well done on the loss!
cp - that's brilliant to almost be normal BMI - I think it's still a useful gauge if taken along with other factors. That's Oddbins isn't it? She's doing brilliantly!! On a fast day I am supposed to be limited to 425cal based on my normal daily allowance (you can have 25% of your normal calorie allowance), so I've been either making a veg soup (works out 80 cal) or having a whole tin of soup (I've found some that are less than 140cal - today's is Tesco light choices carrot & coriander for 110cal), then in the evening either chicken breast fillet, or fillet of white fish with some sort of veg, and also having sf jelly as I need something sweet! With a bit of milk for my cups of tea, this usually adds up to about 300 cal, so I still have a 100 I can use on a yogurt or something, although I haven't always. I tend to try to leave it as long as possible to have my first meal, so skip breakfast and have lunch about 1pm, as I know once I start eating I'm going to struggle to hold out without snacking. I find it easier to eat so little on a fast day than to stick to calories on a normal day as I know the next day I can eat what I want! Have you got a Kindle? Or a kindle app on your phone?? The first book I got was quite cheap if you want to read up about it. www.amazon.co.uk/.../ref=sr_1_16 btw, sorry for deserting you from the Dukan, although I have got some of those noodles to try - I might actually have them with my dinner tonight.
Mossy - DP clothes do tend to be generous don't they! Even so, it's nice to be in a size 10.

Missed a couple there while writing my essay for cp!!
nina - as I've just said to CP, it's the fact that I know I can eat what I want the following day that makes it so much easier to stop myself eating the crap I normally do. It's not going to great overall though, I just can't stop myself on the normal "feast" days. Having something to work towards is great, I'm sure you'll get there! x

Re fasting - the way I look at it is a lot of people say 'I start a diet and I manage to stick to it for a day and then....' And with this your willpower only needs to last a day at a time. And contrary to what I thought I don't pig out on the non fast days, yes I had a dessert some days or wine, but my meal choices are generally very healthy. I went out for lunch twice too last week and I chose well too. My mindset had adjusted. I would definitely encourage people to try it, see if it works for you.

The soup sounds lovely Nina!
Well I've lost my first stone. 3.75 lbs off this week taking me to 1 stone 0.25 lbs off. I'm in the 13's for the first time in years.

I think il give it a go when I get to goal and take odd bins approach so Sw 4 days then fast days then treat iyswim.
Dd where did u get the noodles? I bet you could do chicken noodle soup on a fast day with them for very little cals x

DD - if it works it works, I would be like wohay I can eat what I want today! I have very poor self control at the moment.
Beez - it's so easy:
1 onion, peeled and finely chopped
2 carrots, peeled and grated
2 lean back bacon rashers, all visible fat removed, finely chopped
2 large skinless and boneless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
600g canned chopped tomatoes
400ml chicken stock
1 tbsp chopped rosemary
finely grated zest and juice of 1 lemon
salt and freshly ground black pepper
1. Place the onion, carrots and bacon in a large non-stick saucepan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
2. Add the chicken, tomatoes, stock, rosemary and lemon zest and juice. Bring to the boil, stir, then cover and simmer on a medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season to taste and serve sprinkled with chopped parsley.

cp - I got them from Amazon in the end - you could probably make chicken noodle soup with them, but I can't be ar$ed to make anything that complicated soup-wise, and tins of chicken noodle soup are actually quite low calories and I've been having that some of my fast days.

I fell off the wagon big time this last week! I'm so ashamed of myself but I have to get back on it now. Think I'm going to try the fast diet so going to read up on it now.
