I am 18 , My mum found out i was pregnant and kicked me out of my house , so i went and stayed with my boyfriend , his mum has been very supportive , but she has given us 28days notice to leave as she has young children herself and cannot cope with us in the house too. However we went to the council and they claimed to not be able to help us as im not from the local area and apparently do not have a local connected even though my partner lives here and is the father to the baby! anyway i contacted the shelter organisation and they have said to make a joint application and they are supposed to look into my case , we went back to the council but they just listen and don't really seem to be doing anything to help :/ , just need some advice on how anyone on here got housing or any routes i can go down , we just want our own space to start sorting everything out for our new little family! any help or support would be great , thanks Jess x

hi, im new to this but I can help, or at least try.
Me and my boyfriend had been renting a house etc, and we fell pregnant we new we wouldn't be able to afford to carry on paying so had to move out. we moved in with my parents and because there was 7 almost 8 of us in a 3 bed house it was impossible. She gave me a months notice to leave (not because she didnt want me there but because we had a volitile relationship at the best of times) we went to the council and they said we made ourselves intentionally homeless, rubbish why would we want to be homeless??
Anyway they refused to help us so we contacted a charity called shelter, they gave us some amazing advice.
All we did, was called our council explained the situation again and mentioned we had spoken to them, and by go within in 2 weeks we had a bedsit, not anything glamourous but it was a start. I dont know if that was the reason but give them a call. They are lovely people(shelter) and will do their best to help
Hope all is well xx

Depending how early on in your pregnancy if you started full time work now, you will be entitled to stat maternity pay!! Your boyfriends mum would hopefully let you stay until your first pay check then you could afford to pay rent yourself?
