So my son who has been potty trained since a few months before his third birthday day and night has recently started peeing his pants on occasion and sometimes not getting to the toilet on time when he needs a poo. I went into the toilet the other day and he had done a pee, got up and went wash his hands and then somewhere after that did a poo standing up which was all over his hands when I went in.
WTF - am I missing something obvious? I am going to do a reward chart next week but could there be anything I should be investigating?

B does still randomly have accidents. He has bowel problems though which explain his poo problems but on the wee front he will randomly lose track of what he is doing and wee himself. I think the reward chat will help him remember to use the toilet IYSWIM? B has had accidents at school and it seems to be a fairly common thing. HTH.

Might be worth a call to your health visitor? Think they deal until age 5, then it would be the school nurse. A friends little boy has serious issues withhis poos. She tore her hair out for the longest time before seeking help, but when she did she wished she'd asked sooner. Can't hurt to ask.

I hope you didn't think I was making light of it - just B has had bowel problems for such a long time and at school they said it wasn't unusual for them to have accidents anyway so B wasn't that unsual nor would get singled out for it.

Thanks both and no QI didn't read that into your post at all. In my gut I don't feel there is anything serious going on as he has had almost 2 years of 'getting it' but not sure if that actually means anything. I am due a trip to the docs myself next week so might mention it then.
