Ha ha. You know I like to get organised.
I am going to do the buffet myself, anyone got any ideas? I haven't got the cooking facilities to make lots and lots hot food, really just heating up.
I am going to have...
Homemade soup and french sticks
Burgers and hot dogs with onions
Sandwiches, ham, egg, tuna, cheese
Cheese and pineapple and pickle on sticks (everyone loves them)
Pasta and rice salad?
Bowls of salad?
Indian and Chinese snacks?
What else do you think?

I love to talk about food! How about jacket spuds, don't make to much salad the last party we had it got thrown away.
Cheese and pineapple on sticks !!

THey're on the list WS , there would be outrage lol.
Vivixon, I am not too sure about jacket spuds, there is about 100 people coming, that is a hell of lot of them to get ready I hear you about the salad as well

Can't believe I missed them! No party is complete without them
Rather than jacket spuds how about doing smaller spud and stuff them with cheese and onion or cheese and chives. Cook the spuds and half them, then scoop out the fillings and mash up with cheese and onion/chives and refill all the skins and bake in the ovens until the tops brown a bit.
I love them, and they're just as nice cold as they are hot.

Ha Belle, maybe I should, it's actually on Burns night - good idea
I would have to check what cooking facilities that I have for that Chids.

If it's on burns night then you've got to see if you can do haggis, nipes and tatties!!
25/06/2013 at 16:03
Boak! I think that I won't bother with that, maybe just get some haggis bites or something like that
25/06/2013 at 16:05
You can't not on Burns night!
25/06/2013 at 16:10
, its not about Rabbie, its about my M. He does love haggis mind you, so I will do something haggissy. I think that you and D should come Belle!

Yeah maybe the jackets aren't a great idea.

Meats, chicken portions, I wouldn't have soup I'd do a chilli/stovies
Intact I'd do stovies, haggis bites, glayva jelly shots and the other usual buffet stuff, not sure in free burns night or I'd come, I do love a good buffet

The buffet at our wedding was haggis neeps and tatties Kellfi! Went down a treat! Another option would be a couple of big pots of chilli or curry rather than loads of smaller things. I don't think I'd bother with soup. Take it it is an evening dancing/drinking type do?

Everyone here loves soup at the end of the night. Lol.
CP, your post didn't make sense!

Weekender, I'd have to go for a takeaway if I'd went to your wedding! Think I might do some cold meats too, ham in coke & what else?
25/06/2013 at 19:25
I'd not have soup but understand if its the done thing round ur way
I'd have stovies/haggis bites and just make some glayva jelly shots (instead if vodka jelly iykwim)
25/06/2013 at 19:30
What are glayva jelly shots? Whiskey?
25/06/2013 at 19:44
Are you having it at home or at a place that provides a kitchen where you do your own heating up of stuff ect?
I'm not sure about soup as it has the potential to go off very quickly but if you could make it on the day or day before its easy and cheap compared to curry/chilli.
