If you're interested as I still seem to struggle to get on here!
My mothers op didn't go so well and the skin graft has not taken which means healing is taking a very long time and the wound quite frankly looks awful. We are hoping that she can come over to spend a few days with us next month but it will depend on how she is feeling and how well the wound has healed at that point (it has been 4 weeks now)
We had an offer on our house back there so hopefully that will all go through soon! It means the children and I need to fly back to sign paperwork and empty the property. I'm hoping this will happen in December so that my two can get an insight into a British (cold) Christmas!! We will spend Christmas day here though as H can't get time off work.
SIL is having a girl and pregnancy is progressing well (16 weeks I think now) The father wants nothing to do with her or baby but it's not surprising considering how she and MIL have treated him (and he's a nutter) She's stupidly excited, wants an iCandy (I think she lives in a dream world) and has already asked H to be the God Father so he is slowly coming around to this situation (albeit very slowly)
I bought the Ford Edge thank to feedback on here and am so happy with it! I've bumped and scraped it a few times as it's so much bigger than the BMW oops! But it's a great family car and the kids have so much more space so appreciate the recs ladies! It's a bit of a tank in comparison though, takes so long to get going on the motorways ha! And I literally fill it up every 3 days! CAn't complain when a full tank costs me £18 though

Sorry your mum's op didn't go so well, I hope she can manage to fly over for a few days.
I didn't realise that you were selling your house over here, hope it all goes through without a hitch.
Shame about the SIL's babys dad not wanting anything to do with the baby but glad your H is coming round.
£18 for a full tank of petrol

Thanks SW, she'll get through it. Test results come through tomorrow so I'm hoping that they'll give her the all clear. We just got fed up of renting houses out so the family home has to go. We plan to be here for another 5ish years and when we come back, we are looking at Kent or Surrey so won't ever move back to it. It only took 5 weeks to sell so I really hope it goes through.
Yes £18! One of the perks of living in an oil rich country Shame I can't bring it back with me when I visit!

Sorry to hear about your mum, hope she gets better soon.
Good news on selling the house, fingers crossed it all goes through quickly. We have a property we rent out and our tenants moved out 3 months ago and had couple of time wasters but got news yesterday someone wants to move in ASAP so hopefully it doesn't fall through this time. It's just been a pain having to cover the mortgage whilst it has been empty.
Can't believe how many weeks your SIL is now that's gone really quick. Shame the father is not interested but maybe for the best if he is a nutter
So jealous on the £18 of fuel! It costs me £80 to fill my tank :-(

Oh Yoyo, that's good news! Keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope they are good tenants. We were lucky, our tenant was fab but there were always calls asking to fix things and I can't be bothered with it now. We've made a decent profit too which will help cover the cost of a new place over here next year. SIL does seem to be progressing quickly! She's got her head in the clouds though when talking about her plans for the baby and what she will buy. We do worry.
£80 is robbery!!!
