We moved house at the beginning of December, and since the start of feb every night at about 6pm an ice cream van comes round and parks outside our lounge. We live on a newish build developmeng, so I'm thinking of asking the ice cream van to at least park in different places, if he has to come every night, even in winter,! AIBU and just a grump, or would it bug you to?

Not if it coincided with bed time, no. Go and explain that it interrupts your sleeping baby and can (s)he park elsewhere.
What sort of crazy ice cream van works in February anyway!? I saw one tonight and thought March was even too early.

Honestly it's every night at 6pm! Even when it was bloody freezing!!!!

I'd definitely ask them to sometimes park a bit away. I know they get their spots where people expect them to be, but it would wind me up :)

You're definitely not being unreasonable. Every night is crazy at this time of year! We do have one come round but usually only at weekends. I'm a mean mummy and don't buy my children icecreams from it. Only because it seems so dull at this time of year! I'm sure we'll be purchasing sometimes when it's hot!

We have one that parks outside our house, it's not really a problem TBH. It's early enough that my boys are still up, he doesn't block my drive, and he has to park somewhere (we live in a cul de sac)
I think you are being a bit of a grump tbh.

It wouldn't bother me. There used to be one that parked just up from our house when I was growing up. Its not like they are there for very long, they do move off. And 6 pm is not that late, its not like they are out there at 10 pm.

I bet it's a drug front. Who the hell buys ice-cream at 6pm in February?! It's dark then!

We have one that's just started it's rounds for the summer, usually about 6.30pm here, but always mid afternoon on a Sunday! It doesn't bother us really, and the road is a public space, so you can't really complain and expect it to be listened to, they will stop where they think it is most likely to attract business.
