Does anyone shop at Aldi? I may have been reading an article in the Daily Rail today where they recommend the booze, specifically the gin. Has anyone tried the gin?
If it's any good I might go get some at lunch

No I have not tried ot, but I have been reading that for a while about gin. The Pimms is supposed to be lovely as well

I've had the wine, and the whiskey. Apparently it's fine, so I'd imagine the gin would be good too. My nana swears by everything Aldi, I quite like it, it's great for stocking up the store cupboards. I still have to go to a proper supermarket though so that I can get quorn for H.

I've used the Gin to make sloe gin and had no complaints. I've bought Austin's too (their pimms) and it's very nice indeed considering it's about a tenner cheaper a bottle!

Has anyone tried their prosecco that has won awards?

They do a decent Prosecco too? Well I know where I'm going at lunch then!

I used to shop at Tesco and Aldi but I don't bother with Tesco anymore. Loads and loads of Aldi products have won awards. Their fresh stuff lasts soooo much longer than Tesco. Tesco fresh is held in cool containers for weeks before it is put out. Aldi have a quicker turnover of produce so it is fresher.
I can't vouch for the meat as I go to a butchers for than but no cpmlaints about anything else and I have one of the lowest food bills of anyone I know.

Yes apparently it's really nice and only about £7. I'm thinking of buying some for A's christening as it will be cheaper than pub champagne even with corkage.

I used to shop there and should do again really to save money!
The Pimms is lovely!

Well I went up there and it was rammed. Had to elbow my way through the old ladies who were flocking to the liquor section. Amazed by the food on offer in there, must remember to try shopping there more.

The pimms is lovely we bought loads last year, for a part and it seemed to go down very well! Xxx

The pimms is nice iv not tried gin. Yes you need to pick your times to go because it can be a free for all.
My h and fil love bratwurst sausage and we always stock up on them. If you notice you get much more meat for your money there, we buy smoked salmon for a fraction if the cost from asda and morrisons. It's so much nicer too!
We have just started going back to ALDI,

I know a gin loving old time hitcher who shops at Aldi and raves about it. My SIL told me last week she bought a free range chicken for £2.50 there last week which I thought was amazing!
11/06/2013 at 14:59
Yeah I saw the massive chickens for a fiver, I resisted though. I've got some Pimms indoors but when it runs out I shall give Austin a go!

There's an article in the Daily Mail praising Aldi up today too, saying how many people have started to shop there for booze rather than going to the other shops.
