On the 28th May 2010 (60 days-8w4d) we were able to take Alice home. Birth weight 2lb 10.5oz going home weight 4lb.We have had it up and down as you guys know. Last Tuesday she went apnic and BLUE! she had some bloods and is now lovely.
She hasnt fed much this morning! Im giving her until 1:30 and if nothing by then (she had 15 mil with meds this morning) then she will have to have expressed milk!I think she just super full to be honest, not good but we have been a bit unsettled coming home, new routine etc etc.She does breastfeed but at night she has to have this prem baby formula. She happily does boob and bottle
Its lovely having her home with me. I do have an Angel Care monitor and its wonderful. I can hear her and it ticks when she breathes. Very good for my nerves!

What wonderful news, I bet you are over the moon to have her home with you. All those cuddles available now
Its nice you can now start to get settled at home with her and get in your own routine with her. She has had a tough start which is tough on all.
WELCOME HOME ALICE!!!

I have the neonatal nurses coming today to weigh her and see how we are doing. I think she has reflux. be is boob or bottle she brings it up. Want to see if we can get something for it.
She is lovely. I roasted her last night! OOOPS! 10 blankets on, plus cardi, two vests...onsie and a hat. realised the room was ROASTING I only have 6 layers on her today! its hot!
We have a very busy week next week! out every day seeing certain health professionals! BUSY BUSY WHEN A BABY COMES HOME! xxx

She's very cute Corrinne.Looks so tiny.
Don't know if it's different with preemies, but use the number of layers you're wearing as a rough guide to what you put on a newborn. If you put two fingers just inside the clothes you'll get a good idea of baby's temperature,to make sure she's warm enough.Hands a feet are sometimes cold anyway.Probably a vest, sleepsuit, sheet and blanket would be plenty at night.Do you have a room thermometer?
Loving the blankets and cardi. Is there a doting Grannie somewhere?I love the handknitted stuff.
Lovely to see Alice home and well.Enjoy

She has to wear two vests, a onsie and a cardi. HAT only outside.no more then 4 layers (blankets) at any one time...I might make it down to two. she hasnt got a cardi on....but a long sleeve vest under her heart vest.
As she only 4lb 1oz she needs to be wrapped up warm! she a reflux baby...we combatting it now so hopefully by Monday her weight will have shot right up
