I'm not sure whether this is normal or not. I had my gallbladder removed 18 months ago and all has been fine since until about a month ago. I've been feeling a some discomfort and sometimes shooting pains where my gallbladder used to be. Over the last few days I've noticed it more and it's been more uncomfortable and I've had more indigestion than normal that I just can't seem to shift.
I had a blood test done last week at the GPs to check liver function and it came back normal.
Am I just being a wuss or should I go back to my GP?

If you're still not feeling right then go back again.
Other options for indigestion are that you've gained weight over Christmas, or been eating heavier than normal meals (and who hasn't?!) and your body may just be protesting. But with the shooting pains best to get it checked out.
Oh, just to add a disclaimer I am not a medical person at all!

Thanks Cedar. Surprisingly I haven't actually gained any weight over Christmas and have lost weight since new year. I'll give my GPs a call in the morning

I'm a nurse and am also awaiting an urgent cholecystectomy following my horrific time at xmas.
I've researched it alot and while your body can manage without the gall bladder, you are still meant to eat a healthy diet and the body can tolerate small amounts of fat normall but if you eat them to excess it is ineveitable you will have side effects and what you describe fits them.
Have a look part way down this link
I'm guessing as its been xmas and most people over indulge, that that will be the cause of your symptoms.
Try and eat healthily and I'm sure it will settle down.

Thanks Mrs Claus. Thing is though I haven't over indulged over christmas and I can be completely honest saying that. I felt a bit rubbish over christmas with a cold and tonsilitus and had 'bad things' in moderation. I only had a small piece of cake after christmas dinner and we didn't receive any chocolates. Other than that I've been eating pretty well so don't think its diet related.
